My first novel, The Red Gate (2009) began the Gatekeepers series on the weather beaten coast of Co. Mayo, when two semi-literate shepherds find something amazing after a fall into a muddy sink hole in the lower pasture. It reveals an ancient secret that must be protected. It begins as the Home Rule Bill is about to be defeated in Parliament. Their discovery is going to force unwelcomed change into their quiet lives, but some of the change will be a good thing after all.

The second book in the series, The Gatekeepers (2010), takes place ten years later with the arrival of relatives from America. The recent freedom of the new Nation is about to be torn by Civil War and the family has more to do to keep their legacy protected. New and old allies join their struggle and the secrets are laid bare once more as the ancients reveal the wonder of their knowledge to new family.
