Hi!I literally just finished watching season 3 last night! My husband bought the three box sets, like...maybe a month ago? I don't know if it's even been that long. So, we've been marathon watching it and loving every minute. Talk about good writing!
I so hated Damon initially, but found myself changing that opinion in season 3. He is not only hot, but has a soft side. And I love the sexy facial expressions that actor makes. LOL
Okay, as to the Bonnie question. Am I weird? I don't want her to save Elena from being a vampire! If she's not a vampire, she can't be with Stefan (or Damon) forever. Sad. But, Bonnie seems to be able to fix just about anything, so we shall see.
And what was with Alarick dying? I hated that. Just saying. Have a great week, everybody!

Alarick was one of my fave characters. So much depth, and going from broody and revenge-filled to Damon's friend and funny sidekick was awesome. Yes, this!
I haven't read the books but I love the TV show. It's definitely a weekly guilty pleasure. Like others mentioned above I didn't really like Damon at the start but now it's Stefan that I don't really like. I think this season will be really interesting. I'm glad they stepped things up a notch. I'm excited for Elena as a Vampire. I think she will strive to be a very different vampire than Katherine and may even resent it initially. There will definitely be some struggles there.Jamie

I agree that if Elena finishes the transition to vampire, not only is she going to super hate Meredith, but Damon & Stefan are going to turn into broody brothers. Damon will be brooding because he believes Elena being vampire means she and Stefan will be together forever, and Stefan will brood over the fact Elena is a vampire when she never wanted that.
Having read the books all the show takes is character names and some characters being the same supernatural, otherwise totally different. Books have a lot more weird going on.
Alaric was great. But as to Jeremy, the other chick Anna, I didn't mind her. I still want the show to give the Damon/Bonnie angle a go like the book hinted at.
Also poor Tyler =(. Wonder how long it will take Caroline to figure out Tyler is actually Klaus?
Damon and Stefan are already pretty broody anyway, and Elena needs to be a vampire to add a different twist to the series I think. I also think the actor, Nina, can pull it off so that Elena the vampire will be a different angle than Katherine the vampire. I never liked Jeremy with Bonnie...totally didn't feel the chemistry there. I like Anna, too. And yes, poor Tyler...and Caroline. Interesting twist with the Klaus angle. He gets to live and get a chance with Caroline after all. He and Rebekah are very interesting characters. I also really like Elijah. I can't wait to see what happens next. Yes, I am obsessed!:)
Yes, I guess the big question is: What evil/opposing force will they face in this season? Will Elijah and find out Klaus is still alive and attempt to kill him? Or will Elena and co agree to let Klaus live so they don't die themselves?
I think Elena being a vampire and adjusting is going to be the biggest focus at least for the first part of the season, but with her being a vampire that eliminates the doppleganger which could send Klaus on a path to find another way. Klaus could still very much be the enemy, but I think they will be searching for a way to separate themselves from him. I'd expect a new enemy to emerge as well, I'm guessing closer to mid season though.

I'm a huge Vampire Diaries lover, but I think after reading these posts that I need to rewatch last season before the new one starts because I don't remember some of the wow moments. And that's just unacceptable. *runs to Netflix, hoping they have season 3*
Yes! I cannot wait for Vampire!Elena to remember that she met Damon first and the moments that Damon compelled her to forget as a human. I'm pretty certain that her transition to vampire will be the major focus of the season and I think part of what will make that interesting was that Elena was so compassionate as a human, that will likely be the side of personality magnified by the vampirism. Psyched to see how that plays out with her transition.
Yeah Caroline's mum is kind of wishy-washy for me, and Caroline finding out about Tyler/Klaus will be a big point for her I think. I do agree that making Elena a vampire (finally! the books did it really early on) will be the initial focus after they realise there is no way out of it.
Good point Jennifer, I forgot how once turned vampire all the compulsion disappears. That should make for some interesting conflict.

I am also looking forward to some new characters. Maybe new wolves? Some humans would be nice. A new awesome TV or maybe bring back Alarick?

They always have a mid-season break (painful, I know), so you might be able to meet us halfway through =D.
Hi everyone, just joined and I too love Vampire Diaries but we don't have it in Australia often and so I have been watching it via the internet a day after it airs in the US. So frustrating not having Season 4 here. I love Damon, he is the bad boy who does have heart after all and he knows when Elena wakes up she will be pissed off that she is dead. Stefan will do his usual and feel guilty as hell for not saving her and it will be interesting to see how she deals with it. I can't see Bonnie letting her die and leaving Jeremy alone. Everyone will be angry once they find out what Bonnie has done especially Caroline, she lost Tyler so that is understandable and she has a love/hate thing going on with Klaus. Should be an interesting season. :)

Yay! One more day. I LOVE ME some DAMON, too! Hopefully, there will be some more love scenes between the two of them this season.

holy moly! So glad vampire diaries is back.**SPOILERS FROM SEASON OPENER**
I had no doubt Elena would turn, they could only prolong it so much. It was time. And I think her being a vamp will add another layer to her character and the struggle will be interesting to watch.
I was a bit surprised how quickly klaus got back to his own body. It was like oh hey he's back... moving on... /sigh Although I loved how the actor played klaus inside him, that was kinda awesome! Poor Caroline, but I'm glad she figured it out.
My biggest pet peeve with this episode was right before Elena turned, she kept reaching for the blood from the guy Stefan killed. I know she was weak but his arm was within her reach the whole time. She should have just grabbed that and sunk her teeth in. I know blood is what turns her, but it seemed like extra struggle that could have been avoided. Not to mention I thought they needed more blood than that but I guess not. But after when she zoomed out and told Damon to let Matt go, that was awesome!
And as much as I want Elena and Damon to happen the scene with Elena and Stefan on the roof was extremely touching, it made me miss the early days of Elena and Stefan. And if he's going to be like that, then I'd be okay with Elena and Stefan ending up together. But at some point poor Damon has to win the girl!

I totally agree. I woild have thought she would have needed more blood than that. Last night's episode was too rushed, or not enough good focus on the loose ends or I don't know what. I am so tired of Bonnie. Her old purpose is to help the vamps or hook up with uninteresting boys. She's become so 1 dimensional. Also I would have liked ro see the vamps suffer a bit more. Why round them up if only for 30 minutes? I hate that there wasn't more focus on Elena's memory return now that the compulsion wore off. It's like the writers rushed through to get the episode done. I don't even care about Vampire Elena now. I was really disappointed. That said, is it Thursday yet?

I so did, but hey it was in a spoiler tag so =PYes, I think Arrow should be awesome.
I'm not sure I like the aim of the overarching plot in Beauty and the Beast, but will give it a few more episodes to see (the first episode had no problems just not feeling the plot right now).
oo I like both Arrow and Beauty and the Beast both are showing some good promise, especially arrow, which has pretty good eye candy as well ;)
October signals the start of continuing TV shows and also new ones. One of the more anticipated TV shows this month in the Month9Books family is 'The Vampire Diaries'. Love or hate the original books by L.J. Smith, you can't deny this show is addictive.
We'd love for everyone to share what they're most looking forward to in Season 4. For those who are yet to catch up please be warned there will most likely be spoilers in this thread.
My question to start the discussion: 'Will Bonnie be able to save Elena from having to finalize the transition to vampire?'
