Wow I should've put my introduction in the intro discussion right??? *smacks self*

It is the punishing "social writing" contest America's Next Author.
I love writing, but I hate the aggressive marketing writers are now expected to do. How do you keep yourselves motivated? Please do not include the word "twitter" in your answer, it might push me over the edge.

But, if I did, I would set little deadlines for myself that I have to get things done by.
That's a pretty good idea. I tried to do that, but I'm not very good with deadlines... maybe little rewards along with your met deadlines? Like, "If I meet my deadline, I'll go make myself three cups of coffee" or something.
Coffee? Yick. XD If that was my goal, I'd.... Well, I'd abandon my goal. But I already do that, because I'm a sorry heap of procrastination...

Ducky, you are now my favourite non-related person in the world.

That part makes me happy.
The part that sucks is that I now understand the whole "straight from the frying pan into the fire" thing. I have to spend another week of my life on twitter trying to convince strangers to read a story about a know-it-all 17 year-old and an old Chinese guy.
I do this to myself so you can learn from my mistakes. I hope.

Ducky, you are now my favourite n..."
Why, thank you very much. XD

The Battle Round has begun!
Here's how it works: The fourteen nominees will be randomly paired in seven head-to-head battles. You must carefully consider these two nominees and choose the author with the best story. After you vote on the f
irst pair, you'll be presented with another pair, and another, until you've seen all nominees.
If you complete all seven voting rounds, you can enter to win an iPad! You can only go through this voting process once.
A Battle Ranking will be calculated based on your votes. This will be updated daily. At the end of the week, the three authors with the highest score will move on to the Jury Round. Our jury will decide which two of these authors will win $500, and which one will win $5000 and the title America's Next Author.

I can't find it, either. Is it possible they've taken it down already? Normally web moderators take down articles and posts after only one or two reports.
I have come to the conclusion through several hours worth of logic that fudgesicles are very beneficial to fuel a writer's mind.
Now I feel kind of sick. That was a lot of fudgesicles. But it worked pretty good yesterday. I made another short story that Ducky will probably hate me for because it is totally morbid! :D

Hope to make writing friends

This group is constantly switching between sleeping and awake, so please forgive the lack of people right now. I hope to get the ball rolling, and I'm about to go through the writing folder and read a whole lot of stuff from different people. Also, I'll be talking to the head mod, Kyra, about getting a new writing contest started up. I'm gonna advertise and invite some people to the group. So yeah hopefully it'll be more active soon. Welcome to the group, Holly. :3
Hello, everyone! Sorry, I've been busy with school starting up and all... but I'm back (hopefully for a lot longer)!! Holly and Christina, it's so great to meet both of you! Feel free to jump right in!
