Chapter 21 (view spoiler)[I'm liking Tris less and less in this book. I can't understand the lying. I really don't. Especially when it keeps leading to more and more conflicts and misunderstandings. I can't understand why she doesn't trust him while he fully trusts her. And THEN she demands why oh why does he not share every waking thought he has with her?

And he was right. She really is just as stupid as the rest of the Dauntless. While they take risks for the sake of the thrill, she keeps putting herself in trouble that's not necessary or fully justified and then he'd some and rescue her. I feel like she's turning into Bella from Twilight -.- Where's badass Tris? Where's smart Tris? Why are we stuck with idiot drama queen Tris?

I really liked the truth serum part. It was intense. And I was glad the Will issue is finally out. It got on my nerves. The thing is lying really annoys me and I just finished Mind Games and it was more of the same. So, I guess I still have some lingering feelings from that read that's affecting this one lol xD (hide spoiler)]

They died specifically so that she can live and all she does is throw her life away. She promised to stay. She promised. Evidently that means nothing to her. Didn't she think that by allowing the Erudite to study her brain that she'd be putting all of the factions in danger not saving them at all? How is she saving them? By dooming everybody to be slaves for Erudite? What a freakin' idiot. I'm pissed.

On another note, I'm pretty sure Tobias would never just come with no plan intending to die. Contrary to Tris, he's not an idiot. Although she deserves all the guilt he can put her through. Yes, I just said that. Because she keeps convincing herself she's doing it for everybody but in fact she's only doing it for herself. You want to die. You want to be with your parents. That's fine. Just stop thinking you're the hero and that you're doing it for everybody else. (hide spoiler)]

Also finished! I was disappointed for almost the entire book, but it was an interesting ending though, made me want to read Allegiant.

This is what I've written so far today.

Chapter 27

“Promise me,” he whispers, “that you won’t go. For me. Do this one thing for me.”
Could I do that? Could I stay here, fix things with him, let someone else die in my place? Looking up at him, I believe that I actually could. And then I see Will. The crease between his eyebrows. The empty, simulation-bound eyes. The slumped body.
Do this one thing for me. Tobias’s dark eyes plead with me.
But if I don’t go to Erudite, who will? Tobias? It’s the kind of thing he would do. And I love him. I can't let him do that. 
I feel a stab of pain in my chest as I assure him. “Okay.”
“Promise,” he says, frowning.
The pain becomes an ache, spreads everywhere—all mixed together, guilt and terror and longing. “I promise.”

Chapter 28

WHEN HE STARTS to fall asleep, he keeps his arms around me fiercely, a life-preserving prison. But I wait, kept awake by the thought of bodies hitting pavement, until his grip loosens and his breathing steadies. I'm torn between saving innocent dauntless and losing Tobias. I can't let Tobias go to Erudite when another innocent jumps off the roof. His grip loosens and I know what I have to do. 
I shrug on one of his sweatshirts so I can carry the smell of him with me. I slip my feet into my shoes. I don’t take any weapons or keepsakes. I know that's stupid because I won't be able to protect myself. 
I pause by the doorway and look at him, half buried under the quilt, peaceful and strong.
“I love you,” I say quietly, trying out the words. I let the door close behind me.
"Tris?" I hear Tobias mumble. 
I take one step away from the door but between that step the door opens again. And Tobias is behind it, looking at me curiously. 
"Tris, where are you going?" He asks softly. 
"I have to go do something. Don't worry," I lie.
He closes the door and we're both outside, "I'll go with you. Whatever you have to do, you won't have to do it alone. I'll be there. By your side."
"I'm just going to go to Christina. She asked me to come over tonight."
"Tris, can't it wait?"
"No! Of course not!"
I try to walk away but he pulls me back to him. "Tris, I really like you and don't want you to do stupid things."
"Do you think so little of me?" I ask offended. 
"Of course not!"
"Then just let me talk to my friend!" I say and immediately turn around. This time he doesn't pull me back. He just lets me go. I think that's easier. I think that this is the best way to save him.
