Just finished reading chapter 5 or 6, not sure, I find it really slow. And I don't like Tris too.

I agree!!! And I hate the way she treats Four. :(

yea that's what disappointed me since when asked by others she can be logical. she doesn't think of the implications on others including Four.

Awe it bums me out that you guys aren't enjoying it :( For me,(view spoiler)[ I thought that her leaving and heading to Erudite was stupid, but I felt it showed more of her normal human side because she let her feelings lead her instead of being practical about it. (hide spoiler)] Isn't it funny how people can see the exact same book in such different ways? :)

@jalyn: i've even tried thinking how i was at that age just to give it a shot but i still can't appreciate her actions. i would think that someone who went through what she did in the first book would be more mature and more keen to think of her next actions granted that she's still 16 but what she went through were not normal. leading by feelings and being selfish because she refuses to think of the impact on others are two different things. i'm really sorry jalyn.... =(

She's bossy. -.- The last part quite confused me that I have to read it again. The book has definitely flaws, some parts are confusing, I couldn't differentiate the factions clearly. It is very much different from the first book. :(

Well, two things about me - I am NOT a young adult, but I read books slanted for YA anyway.

The other thing ... I'm the kind that absolutely has to read the first book of any series - cannot possibly start with # 2.

I enjoyed both of these books. I like the way Insurgent moved along; didn't drag on and on like a lot of books do. And I liked the romantic flavour.

I do like both Tris and Four - good characters.

Someone paralleled it with Hunger Games? Yeah - I thought so too - it put me in mind of that story.

I agree with you about Insurgent primarily being an action driven book and a quick read. I really love Four ( sometimes more than Tris) and I always need a little romance in the books I read.

Except that they are both set in dystopian societies, I don't see too many parallels between this series and the Hunger Games. ....but even as I type this i'm having second thoughts. I might have to think about that some more ;)
