GB i have got tuns of books to read but have you got anything to recomend?

Denae Christine it's "tons" just fyi.
Do you like sci-fi? Try star wars?

Brigid ✩ i think that if you like the maximum ride books, you would like the percy jackson books by rick riordan. they are equally exciting, and have a similar tone.

Celia Guzi i say the golden compass or the shadow children series, the first one called: among the hidden.

Laura I'd say Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

The Percy Jackson series is REALLY good. There is also the Charlie Bone.

Diana yes, i loved maximum ride and i also loved percy jackson, charlie bone, and the shadow children series. and i really want to read enders game. percy jackson has a lot of the same tone as maximum ride, they're just smaller.

message 8: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy I've never read Percy jackson, but I have read Charle bone and one of the shadow children books. I hated that one becuase, A) I'm the thrid kid in my family, B) had a extremly depressing ending, I wasn't happ or satisfyd with it at all and C)It wasn't well put together. It made it look like we were in big trouble... kind of like not enough in the world kinda thing. Max ride is my all time favorite book. She everything I wish I was. Tough, witty, clever, quick-thinking, and well, has the ability to fly, which would so and totally rock!

Karina Try Gone by Michale Grant, (hope i spelled that right). Or if you love Maximum Ride and James Patterson read When the Wind Blows and The Lake House, both good books that have a lot in come with MR.

message 10: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy Is when the wind blows and the lake house appropriate to read? I'm not sure, and I'm not insulting it or anythig, but I can't even read any of the Twighlight series! My mom and sis says I need to 'grow' up. you just don't know about adult authors these days.

Diana I know, the twilight series are sometimes inappropriate. I decided not to read the fourth one. But anyway, I was wondering if I should read the fourth and I guess fifth of the Maximum Ride series. My friends say that the fourth Max. Ride wasn't as good as the first three, so would be a disappointment to read. I loved the first three, but I don't want to read more if they're not as good. What do you think?

message 12: by Julie (new)

Julie I loved Maximum Ride series, but I was actually not a fan of Daniel X. I loved Sail (also Patterson) as much as I disliked Daniel X. It just seemed to be trying to become a comic book superhero; but he was not sympathetic or real somehow.

message 13: by Lizzy (new)

Lizzy Max four is more on saving the world. I wish they didn't take out all of the real Earasers! I want her to start kicking some sirious butt again! I also wish that she started coming up with funnier stuff. *sniffle* I miss her sarcastic remarks.... 4th was really good though!

READ THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!! (You know, if you haven't already done that)

message 15: by Rebecca (last edited May 26, 2011 05:26PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rebecca I only really liked books 1-3 actually I loved them.4th and 5th ? Eh. I didnt enjoy them. The 4th one felt too... preachy? And I care about the enviorment it just seemed like it was trying to teach me something but I already know all about it. And Max felt whiney (about Fang).

I enjoyed The Dangerous Days of Daniel X and I Am Number Four because the action is similar.

MizziQ i really liked daniel x... haven't read I am number four yet... I want to though

Birch I would recommend I am Number Four or the Percy Jackson books. They both have a similar tone to the Maximum ride books. They keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last.

Lady Day Any suggestions for a 15y/o male that enjoyed the Hunger Games, Daniel X series, but did not enjoy the Percy Jackson books.

Percy Jackson is pretty much the boy version of Maximum Ride. Personality-wise, there's pretty much no difference between the two. I found both sets of books absolutely and equally hilarious.

Joyce Hunger games is a must read! Percy Jackson, city of bones is good(I haven't read the most recent one though)

Lady Day thanx for the recs

Chloe Madeline wrote: "percy jackson, kane chronicles, heroes of olympus, or... daniel x"

I'm with ya, I think that the percy Jackson and the Kane chronicles are good to, but I haven't found any interest in Daniel x. But, to the general crowd, I need a good book!!!!!!!!!!!

Austin If I were you I'd read the Eragon series. It's one of the best books I've ever read!

Cedar Austin wrote: "If I were you I'd read the Eragon series. It's one of the best books I've ever read!"

Same here, my favorite series besides Percy Jackson is Eragon

Lavinia Clarke Chloe wrote: "Christina wrote: "Austin wrote: "If I were you I'd read the Eragon series. It's one of the best books I've ever read!"

YES!!!!!!!!!!

Lavinia Clarke i would read the daniel x series by james patterson

Exlibris_keagan I'd say the Lorien Legacies or Divergent
Well, if you haven't read them I loved Divergent and I'm reading I Am Number Four

Dai'John George Cirque Du Freak
Honestly, if you really loved Maximum Ride, I highly recommend Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan. It has the Sci-Fi, the Drama, the comedic relief, the Adventure, the Superhumans, etc. It has a nice storyline and an awesome sequel. Check it out!

ave🪴 George wrote: "i have got tuns of books to read but have you got anything to recomend?"

Pendragon by DJ Mac Hale. Super good series in my opinion

Phoenix if you like maximum ride, you should read this other series by james patterson. its called Daniel X. it's about a boy named daniel. his parents were murdered when he was 3 years old, and now he is trying to kill the killer. in one of the books, he actually mentions maximum ride. it's really cool

message 41: by Keri (new) - added it

Keri Hunt I know this feed is really old, but I adore the series firelight. Like maximum ride, it has strong and independent female lead. But the male leads are amazing as well. I think it's seriously underrated and overlooked!! My daughter loved it when she was 15 and I love it at 40!! Highly recommend after any of the books mentioned here!!

message 42: by Keri (new) - added it

Keri Hunt Firelight is by sophie Jordan. Just in case anyone was wondering :)

Devin Tremblay Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Eragon, and Red Wall are all good options. Red Wall will be the slowest paced but there are over twenty books designed for young readers.

darcy nicolette I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on some books like Maximum Ride, that don't involve the paranormal or magic? Thanks.

message 45: by EkBar57 (new) - added it

EkBar57 if you're still looking for a book, i ahve a whole series. but its magic. its called keeper of the lost cities. hehhe keefie for da win

darcy nicolette Thank You! I will look into that series, although I probably will not read it because of the magic...
Thanks again tho.
