Here's the premise:
When 17-year old Kai is exposed as a female sorceress—a moonburner, she knows the punishment is death. Despite the odds against her, Kai escapes her fate and undertakes a harrowing journey to a land where moonburners are revered and trained as warriors.

But the moonburner citadel is not the place of refuge and learning that Kai imagined. The ongoing war against the male sorcerers, or sunburners, has led the citadel leadership down a dark path that could spell the end of all magic. Armed with a secret from her past and a handsome but dangerous ally in the sunburner prince, Kai may be the only one able to prevent the destruction of her people.

Ben Jackson Hi all! My wife and I recently released our first children's book and are trying to find reviewers.

The book is called “The Day My Fart Followed Me Home!”

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request, I will attach a link to the book available on Amazon below.

message 1812: by Peter (new)

Peter Sankey | 1 comments Hey everybody! I'm an aspiring writer, and to date I've written two books. I would love some honest reviews of either of them. They're both hard-fisted tales of action and suspense, filled with lots of blood, bullets, and foul language.

The Few, The Proud, The Undead by Peter Sankey

The first is THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE UNDEAD - a short horror/action/comedy novel.

Sergeant J. Torrence had some of the military's best under his command. His platoon was nothing but tough, mean-looking badasses, like The Wild Bunch in camouflage... but no amount of training could have prepared them for this mission! After they're sent deep into enemy territory to recover a crashed spy satellite, things take a turn for the horrific when one of them is savagely attacked by a strange, vicious creature. They're forced to turn their weapons on each other, as one by one they're transformed into hideous, indestructible, ravenous blood-thirsty monsters!

Try Harder by Peter Sankey

The second book is TRY HARDER - an exciting, action-packed heist story.

A reformed safe-cracker, Buff was determined to live the rest of his life on the right side of the law. Unfortunately, his former employers had other plans for him. Now, he's forced into assembling a team of professional criminals and orchestrating the most dangerous heist of his career. Hunted by the police, the mob, and a mysterious old man from his past, Buff quickly discovers it will take every bit of his strength and ingenuity just to survive the night!

Both of these books are available as FREE PDFs at www.petersankey.com

Any reviews would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking for reviewers for my new book "A Casualty of Hope"
Bernie Robertson is having nightmares about being pursued through the desert by a man with a gun. Her psychiatrist suggests it could be the tension from divorcing her abusive husband OR it could be the repressed memory of an actual event. Bernie thinks she's never been in a snowy desert, but she was adopted near the Chihuahuan desert. In fact, she was found wandering as a toddler in Laredo, Texas. When Bernie's husband is arrested, and her apartment trashed, she makes the decision to move to Texas where she hopes to find her birth mother. In Texas she meets Mike West, a man she falls in love with, but a man with a secret he is anxious to hide. As she delves deeper, she begins to learn the secret behind her nightmare and comes face to face with the killer who is eager that she not remember anything.
Available as a Kindle e-book, or on Smashwords as an other e-reader, or I will send you the paperback.

Harry Fox (jimfoxy) | 13 comments The Stonegate Sword by Harry James Fox

Hello All,
I am still searching for a few more honest reviews of my fantasy novel The Stonegate Sword. Full disclosure: there are no dragons, griffins or magic spells. It reads like a historical novel, set more than a century in the future in the Colorado Rockies. It is post-apocalypic, but the apocalypse happened so long ago that it is a dim memory, third hand. It is concerned with love, war, courage, and redemption.
Here is a link to the book trailer on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4Th-a0yOdXc

I will make the usual offer. Free eBooks to those wishing to give an honest review on Amazon. I am also open to review swaps.

You can reply by posting below, PM or email at hjimfox @ hotmail.com

Best wishes,
Harry

Ruth Hello - I am moderator of The Armchair Traveler's Club.

We read selections set in different regions of the world. Within the next few days I will post polls for the next regions which includes: Nepal as well as the following regions of India: Madha Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, National Capital Territory of Dehli.

With each section we include a book from an emerging author. For us that means you have written less than 5 books and the first book was published less than 10 years ago.

If you have written a book set in one of the above areas that you would like to to read, let me know and I will include it in the poll.

message 1825: by Crea (new)

Crea S. Ward (creasward) | 8 comments Hi - A few years ago I wrote the first in a series of fantasy stories set in our own world. To share the back-of-the-book blurb:

In the quiet reaches of our world, where humans rarely dare to tread and more rarely care to trespass, lie the remnants of a fading world. There rule the mythical beasts, creatures of cunning wit and uncanny power, who hide away the secrets that mankind seems to have forgotten long ago – including that humans possess magic of their own. Yet keeping those secrets comes at a price, and when the agencies charged with protecting them step in, a normal high school girl by the name of Silver Alurian finds herself face-to-face with a sandy-haired, bronze-eyed youth who seems as if he has something to hide. Determined to find out what it is, she follows him deeper into a world of strikingly magnificent magic, forgotten beasts, and scientists bent on reviving dragons from extinction. She soon realizes, however, that nothing about the world of magic is as defined as he seems to believe. Dark forces are moving where humanity’s reach does not extend, and their goals lie sleeping in the shadowed corridors of the Castle of Divides.

Due to costs of printing, I can only share the PDF version of the book, but that I would be happy to do!

Lana Kortchik Hi all,

Would anyone be interested in reviewing my book that has been published by Endeavour Press in January? Savaged Lands by Lana Kortchik Savaged Lands

The book is set in Ukraine during the Nazi occupation and follows the lives of a family trying to survive what has turned out to be the greatest challenge the Soviet Union has ever faced. The story begins on the day the Nazis march through Kiev for the first time and ends two years and two months later, when the city is liberated by the Red Army. A young Soviet girl named Natasha falls in love with Mark, a Hungarian soldier of Russian descent. Of course, Hungary was allied to Hitler at the time and the two characters were forced to keep their relationship secret from everyone they love. As they fight for their very lives, they face loss, betrayal and heartbreak.

If interested, please email me on lanakort@gmail.com.

Thanks,

Lana

Christi Smit (ChristiSmit) | 8 comments Gamma Nine (Book One) by Christi Smit

Synopsis:
Historians warned humankind how its eventual destruction would be at the hands of its own kind, but no-one ever heeded their fictional warnings. Those wise men and women would ultimately be proven wrong as humankind’s kingdom expanded beyond its natural borders. None of them could have ever fathomed the horror that waited for us in the darkness between the stars. We, the dominant race in the universe, never stopped to think if we should be conquering the unknown, plundering everything in our path as we pushed further and further away from our home world. Our arrogance would be our undoing, our ignorance the weapon used to strike where we least expected it. Gamma Nine, the vessel of our doom, was the prison of an organism so hungry, so violent, that nothing could ever satisfy its insatiable appetite. In our arrogance we stumbled upon it, unwittingly allowing it to infect our bodies. It changed us, turning our own flesh against us. Nothing we possessed could stop the organism’s bloody advance through our star kingdom. We sacrificed millions to keep the monsters that lurked in the shadows away from our most precious possession - our future. We needed a new weapon to stand against the nightmare consuming us from within. We needed heroes to fight for our race’s survival. We needed Titans.

Epub, mobi and PDF versions available for reviewers. Please contact me via PM or send a mail to commander@gamma-nine.com to request a review copy.

Book #1: The Less You Know
Ambitious is not an unfamiliar word for Cecilia Parkinson. It may even be the main attribute that led her to choose a career as a bail bondswoman. Ambition may have led her to where she is, but when Cecilia finds herself on another continent in an attempt to re-apprehend her fugitive bond, Ryder Kelly, she is caught between two rival drug cartels and their target. To make things worse, a handsome but unwelcome acquaintance from back home, Robert Lewis, appears to her seeming rescue, but will Cecilia be able to keep the cool head she needs in order to survive or will his mysterious appearance put them in even greater danger?

B. Tollison | 3 comments Hi everyone. I've got a new sci-fi novel, Requiem out available for free at Smashwords and all the major retailers (although it costs $0.99 at Amazon).

Book description: It is the early stages of the 22nd century. The Atlas Gates, wormholes built by an extinct alien race, have been activated and now connect many of the star systems in the Milky Way. Upon hearing news of her long forgotten mother, Seline Esher reluctantly returns home to find a piece of her past in the form of her mother's memory drive. The eyes of the alien race known as the Yurrick and the sinister NeoCorp quickly turn to Seline and the memory drive which they believe may hold the key to controlling the Atlas Gates.

With no other option, Seline must navigate a tenuous relationship with the Yurrick while confronting a past she has spent the better part of her life trying to disown.

But a shadow is approaching, and Seline, with the only possible key to the Atlas Gates, soon finds herself fighting, not only for herself, but for a galaxy on the verge of extinction.

I'd be willing to swap reviews with other authors out there if anyone's interested. I don't really favour particular genres although I don't really read YA, romance, or paranormal stuff. You can check out my reviews if you want an idea of my tastes.

N.I. N.I. | 3 comments Hello! My book is currently free on Amazon and I was looking for some reviews! ☺️ it's a YA called "A Thousand Wishes"

I'd like to call it a double love story. Phoenix Hartwell is now 17 and takes a look back at last summer. She comes from a line of good witches and she has the power of invisibility and can shift whenever her heart desires, sometimes when she's bored she shifts to different countries to paint their national bird. She's from Starry Oaks, CT, a town that's known for its entrancing star. One day her and her best friend Laurie decides to take put a legend to the test by counting 1,000 stars and making a wish. The next day Phoenix meets the new kid on the block Jimmy Nova and she instantly feels connected to him and falls for him, not knowing that he has a big secret. Days go by and she realizes her mother is very sad braise her first love disappeared without a trace, so Phoenix vows to find him for her with the help of Jimmy and learns that starry oaks has more magic than she know. Jimmy is a singer and loves writing poems and singing to Phoenix
In one of the chapters he wrote this for her

"Her long beautiful red hair, wasn’t what got me to stare. it was her beautiful heart that I heard beating, when I thought no one was there. Her hugs wasn’t what got me to stay, it was the thought of me being alone again, and I was afraid. She completes me more than she knows. I admire her more than I show. They say true love is hard to find, but I don’t believe that, because once I saw her in my dreams, I knew she was mine. I’ve waited for this day for so long and she never knew it. I plan to give her the world, lord please don’t let me blow it."
