Anna S (theannascanlon) Shoot me a message if you'd like to review my book at annajamiescanlon@gmail.com or on here. I'm currently only sending eBooks for review as I am already paying out of pocket to give away ten of my books (which you can enter as well!).

Unravelled by Anna Scanlon

"No one heard us. They decided not to, to turn their heads away. It was too much to bear. Too much to know. Too hard to swallow. But now that the world knows, now that the world has heard, it all seems so simple, so easy to defray.

I screamed and no one heard.

Next time, will you be listening?"

Aliz and her twin sister, Hajna, are enjoying their playful, carefree and comfortable life with their parents in Szeged, Hungary just before the Nazis invade. Seemingly overnight, their lives change drastically as they are transported to the ghetto on the outskirts of the city and then to Auschwitz to be used in Mengele's deadly experiments. After several months of brutal torture, Aliz is liberated to find that she is the only survivor in her family. At not even 11 years old, Aliz must make the journey to San Francisco alone, an entire world away from everything she's known, in order to live with her only known relatives whom she has never met-- a depressed aunt and teenage cousin who is more than ready to escape her mother's melancholy. Told through the eyes of both Aliz and her cousin Isabelle, Unravelled tells a story of survival, hope, family and the lives war and genocide haunt long after liberation.

RACING DRAGONS

I would appreciate your reviews and feedback. Thanks!

A recent review:

Racing Dragons: [Todd Burnett] Exciting, Adventuresome; complete with nasty villains and a stout-hearted dragon! Racing Dragons is a thrill ride that reminds us that some things are not for the taking. Some things are better left alone.

Racing Dragons is a story about a dragon who has been taken from his forest and is determined to return home, or die trying. It's about a dragon who can think, fly, and talk because he was genetically modified by humans. He is different, he is intelligent...and he knows it. In his eyes, humans have experimented with him for science, then kidnapped him for money, and finally, they have subjected him to Gladiatorial combat for the sake of entertainment. But, there is one human, Bax, who out of necessity, has promised to help this noble dragon return to his beloved forest. Together, they have a unique bond between them. One that will need to grow if they are to survive the nasty villains and the arena itself.

With regard to character development, scene setting, and storytelling, Todd Burnett has achieved an exciting story
which is well crafted and nicely written. Bax and his dragon along with their few friends are the kind of characters you want to know. What stands out for me is the simple moral of the story. Racing Dragons reminds us that some things are not for the taking. Some things are better left alone.

I'd recommend Racing Dragons to anybody who likes a good thrill ride and very likeable characters. I recommend with 5 stars.

Gary Sherman | 5 comments I wrote Perceptual Integration: The Mechanics of Awakening to help us understand self-awareness as a natural gift that can imbue ordinary life with extraordinary experiences. My book is part memoir, part workbook, part guidebook, a step-by-step approach to mastering attention, the key to expanding awareness.

Mechanics of Awakening carefully lays out three primary skills for developing self-awareness and provides forty simple practices to train our attention, open access to inner wisdom, and bring all the benefits of self-awareness into our everyday life and relationships.

This book is the culmination of my 30 years mentoring hundreds of people in the art of Perceptual Integration, helping them to expand and utilize their endowment of self-awareness. I’m a psychotherapist with over forty years experience teaching meditation, workshops and self-awareness programs for private clients and in social work agencies, corporate America and at the university level.

If you would like to review Perceptual Integration, I am happy to send a copy in soft cover or ebook.
Thank You! Gary Sherman

The story was inspired by my mother and my ex-mother in-in- law; a Caribbean and a German woman who seemingly lived parallel lives.

The book was part of the Read Ontario promotion and was named as one of the most anticipated books of Fall 2013 by 49th Shelf and one of the Fall 2013 Dewey Diva’s Picks.

Devon Tarantino (authorgirldevon) | 7 comments Hello! I have a book that I am trying to get reviews for on Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook. I'm willing to give a free PDF of my book, and once I've gotten a review, I'd be happy to ship the reviewer a free paperback copy of my book.

My book is called Forever. Here is the blurb I've written about it:
Riley and Kyle have been best friends since they were nine-years-old. To them, it doesn't matter that Riley is a girl and Kyle is a boy, or that Kyle's parents make a lot more money than Riley's, or even that they live an hour away from each other. All that matters is that they've found a friend in each other unlike anyone else, and that they share a bond that is uniquely their own.
As Riley and Kyle grow up, however, they learn that life isn't always as simple and as easy as they once thought, and that the lines between friendship, love and hate aren't always so easy to define.
Blending genres and styles to exemplify the many ways people stay close in the face of physical and emotional distances, Forever is a story about growing up and learning, not only how to stand alone, but how to trust in those around you. It is a story about what it means to love and lose, and how to heal.
Not just a coming of age story, romance, drama, or inspirational fiction, Forever is, at its core, a story about two people trying to hold onto each other, despite everything life throws at them.
Forever

I would warn anyone thinking about reading it that there is a decent amount of swearing and some sexually explicit content, though nothing that would characterize it as a "romance" novel.

I'm really trying to get my name out there, which is a hard process to start, so I'm hoping to get the ball rolling with this! If anyone is interested, please message me on here, or through my Facebook author page, https://www.facebook.com/authorgirldevon and we can set it up!

About the Book:

Payton Carlson’s life is perfect, until the night she’s abducted by aliens. Now she’s plagued by pieces of memories from a night that feels as hazy as a dream, and that’s not the only strange thing that’s been happening. When Payton’s neighbor, Logan Reed, who spends every night sitting on his roof staring at the stars, starts to pay extra attention to her, Payton starts to wonder if he knows more about the night she can’t remember than she does. Suddenly finding a date to the Homecoming dance and cheering at the football games aren’t as important as they used to be - especially when the aliens return for a second time.

Avikshit Mathur | 2 comments Science Fiction on Indian Scriptures: I am giving away free pdf copies this weekend and expecting reviews.

Please reply/message back to me with your email and I will send it over. Blurb below:

The Canadian Space Agency was engaged in a sophisticated space mission. Accidently, they discovered that the end to the world is near, and the secret to rescuing the planet lies in the long-lost Indian scriptures. A shift in the solar spectrum indicated that, during a certain window of time, the sun would emit all its energy in the Gamma wavelength, while it would be pitch-black to the naked eye. A complete annihilation was foreseen. Aditya Shankar, the chief scientist of the program, despite his strict adherence to scientific principles, is compelled to take shelter under the guidance of an Indian sage. He sets out on a voyage to unravel the mysteries of the ancient past, only to find out that his life is intertwined in the situation. He endeavors to understand the whims of nature, with the dire objective of saving the world.

Cheers
