what e-reader do you have

I have the audible and ebook for cannibal corpse by tim curran but I don't want to send the audible to my kindle because there isn't much room left on it and I'm sure it is a large file. I might put them both on my wife's kindle to mess with that and delete them when I am done.
looks like I'm getting a paperwhite for my birthday next monday, I can't wait to check it out. my wife bought it for me and she has decided to leave the box sitting on the kitchen table and not let me open it until my birthday just to drive me crazy.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Paperwhite so I hope you end up liking it too.
Also Justin, can you message me your email again?
Will do matt. Yea I am going nuts looking at the box, it is still in the box it shipped it. hopefully I get up and she gives it to me early enough to plug in and get a full first charge before work.
the only thing im worried about not liking is the touch screen, I work in material handling and my hands get dirty.
the area I'm in now isn't to bad especially the two days a week I'm on a fork truck so it should be ok. if I get bumped back to body shop I might just use the new one at home and take my kindle keyboard to work. wherever I am at I will figure something out.
I finally got the paperwhite last night so I can charge it for work today, I started reading cannibal fat camp on it last night and so far I like it. I like that I can view the titles or covers and also see my cloud titles. she also got me the leather cover and I really like that also.

if you buy a lot of stuff on amazon the free two day shipping might be worth it but as far as borrowing books go's you can only borrow one per month and its $70 per year.

Ok I read on the paperwhite for a few hours last night, here are the pros and cons for me
I like the size and feel of it in my hand (that's with the leather case) but I'm used to holding below the page turn buttons with my thumb turning the page on the side and I don't like reaching my thumb to the screen to turn the page. I also don't like that I can't turn forward or backwoods with either hand since the left side of the screen flips back and the right side flips forward. other than page turns I like the touch screen much more than I thought I would. I like that I can view covers or a list, especially with the cloud. there are so many freebies that I bought and don't remember what they are even when I read the title so the cover view is awesome. I love the light and how clear the screen is but I'm not sure how much it will effect the battery yet, the light in my kindle keyboard leather case goes through the battery quickly and I hope this don't drain it as bad as that does. I like the feel of the screen, it has kind of a paper texture to it. I hadn't played with the on screen keyboard yet but I don't think I will mind it to much. I hate the special deals already but hopefully I get used to them and don't notice them as much, if not I will just pay to have them removed. I think that's it for now

thanks, one other major plus that I can report after having it for awhile now is that it is much easier to organize since you can view all titles by author. making folders is way easier.

The Kobo Mini was offered last year for $49.95, thirty bucks off of it's usual price. It's a rinky-tink bargain-basement, no-bells-no-whistles e-reader - but it works just fine for me.
I do still want a Kindle eventually - just because a lot of books that I'd like and a lot of writers that I love to follow are only available through Kindle - but that may change. Kobo is (in my opinion) is definitely a company to watch.
Kindle is still freaking king though - and that's king like in Stephen King. The company is freaking huge!

I'm not sure, I like that time left feature on my paperwhite to. mine shows location and time though.

just touch it to change from location, time left in chapter and time left in book.

Would anyone be interested in buying a nook tablet with cover from me? Please let me know or send me a pm.
I am happy with the two kindles I have now but if the price was right i would always buy another especially since I have never used a nook and even though I would never give up my kindle I am curious about them. which one is it, and how much do you want?

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to hide your books?

I deleted a bunch of books with violent or sexually explicit covers so my girls wouldn't see them when we put the Amazon app on the ipad. Even in the cloud they could just click on cloud and see them. Eventually I unregister the Amazon account and made a new account in my wife's name for kids books only. That won't work for you though since it is your kindle, I don't use the ipad for reading.

I'm a little pissed about that last part. I wanted to see how this Amazon/Goodreads collaboration works itself out. I don't think it works on the Fire family either but I'm not sure.
Well, they do need to give us reasons to buy the new kindles even if there is nothing wrong with the ones we already have right? that does sound cool, hopefully it works better than the android app does.

The Paperwhite is the best Kindle product thus far.

Awesome, I'm sure you will love it. I know I do!

I don't have the goodreads thing on mine. Wish they could just do a software update for it or something but I guess they need the newer models to have new features so we will buy more right? I would like if we could highlight and send quotes to goodreads directly from the kindle. That would be cool.

I like highlighting to my collection and I can share on Facebook but I rarely do. All I really want to do is share to goodreads.

Do you have the new Paperwhite? I have the 1st generation from last year. I'm not sure if that would make a difference. I don't have that new Goodreads icon on mine so it could be completely different software for all I know.

So I read that Amazon is working on an update for the older kindle whites so they will have it as well. I hope that's true.
do you have to download the Audi book to your kindle to do this, I would like to try it but don't want to use the space up since audible are a lot bigger than the mobi file.
