I'm glad you liked them. I do too. I'd read the lemon cake one before. Didn't realize they were by they same guy, but now that I know it it seems obvious.

There are no shoulds, Gabi. That said, English language poetry seldom counts syllables. I think you're thinking of poetry that has a regular meter or beat. Da-DUM da-DUM, da-DUM. And rhyme that comes at the end of a line is often linked with that.

However, the vast majority of 20th and 21st century poetry is free verse where there is no regular meter, and rhyme, if there is any, is scattered about instead of being on the end of each line.
