Yes! So true. And, when my turtles were just about the size of a palm, they're actually fast crawlers. plain awesome.

Since they're getting pretty big now, my dad's thinking of turning them over to a sanctuary. But it's hard for me to let them go :( hahahaha

I don't think getting married to your best friend is cliché. I think that's cute. :D

If you don't mind me asking, How does it feel getting married to your best friend?

message 166: by J.S. (new)

J.S. Frankel | 410 comments Personally, Joan, I think marrying your best friend is the BEST thing in life. My parents--both gone, Dad in '85 and Mom in 2007--were married for almost thirty years, loved each other, and were best friends forever, which is how it should be. I love my wife as my partner AND as my best friend and I can't think of spending life without her.

Mica, if you keep your turtles long enough and they grow to be tortoises, what are you going to do then? :)

message 167: by Mica (new)

Mica (rosedesu) | 13 comments Then I'll just have to accept the fact that I can't keep them forever. Go with my dad's idea and probably get a new pair to love. :)

message 168: by J.S. (new)

J.S. Frankel | 410 comments Good thing about turtles--there are a lot of them. As you said, go out and buy a "Yertle and Myrtle" set and they'll be your best buds for a couple of years.

message 170: by Joan (new)

Joan Harvey-Blue | 4 comments Hi Colleen and Jesse. My husband and I have been together for 17 years now married for 9. I was married before and trust me, this is much better. I actually really enjoy spending time with him, and I can talk to him about anything. I never had that with anyone before or since. It truly is fantastic.

message 171: by J.S. (new)

J.S. Frankel | 410 comments Great comment, Joan! I got married sort of late--at 35--51 now--and dated my wife for a couple of years before we got married. She's a lot younger than I am (almost twelve years) but the age difference never mattered. If you can talk to your spouse about anything, then life is so much more worthwhile.

message 190: by [deleted user] (new)

1) I'm 26, but I'm constantly mistaken for a teen when I'm out in public because of how little I am (5'2 1/2" - yes, that half inch counts, lol). I recently went to a casino with my mom and was carded twice - I loved it.
2) I can't walk up or down bleachers because I'm scared I'm going to fall through the cracks.
3) I'm allergic to dairy and wheat so I've had to cut anything with lactose and gluten out of my diet - so long ice cream; farewell pizza *cries*
4) I rarely use my cell to talk to people - it's mainly used to access the 'net since I can't afford the Internet at my place (my mom still pays my phone bill, bless her).
5) My dream is to marry Charlie Hunnam, star of FX's Sons of Anarchy - love him, think he's gorgeous (when he's properly groomed).

Allison Wonderland (allisonwonderland1496) | 13 comments 1) People note me as the quiet, never getting into trouble type... but honestly if you meet me at home and really get to know who I am... I'm pretty reckless, a little stubborn, and very very very loud. ^.^
2) I love to read. And I dislike that fact. Whenever I break away from my reading habit I am so relieved until a friend shoves a book in my face. Once I read that first sentence... I'm hooked again.
3) I escape through music. Yes, I am absolutely gone from the world whenever I listen to beautiful, sorrowful, energetic tunes. Where I go depends on the mood. One cannot reach me when I'm in the middle of listening.
4) I can never keep a crush a secret. No matter how much I try. I always seem to fail *sigh*.
5) I have two sides. One enjoys to be alone. The other enjoys partying and screaming and poking strangers in the face...
