Hi all, I'm Jan aka Jerseygirl. I just found out from Bev that this group exists although I've been on Goodreads since 2010. I don't like it as much as Shelfari but it is nice to have a place to go when Shelfari decides to read a short novel.

Hi everyone! I am KimBear on Shelfari and I have been on Goodreads (faithfully) for about a year.
I was a member before Nov 20, 2011. I've been lifetime member for awhile, and I don't mind that I "missed" out on the free membership. The $20.00 was $$ well spent to me. However I do take issue with the fact that I never got the email about the security breach. I just recently noticed the request to change my password when I was on the site. I wonder if they only sent the email to people who weren't already lifetime members.

I got the email as well even though I wasn't affected by the breach, but still had to change my password.
I got the LT email as well (am not a lifetime member, and it didn't affect me, either, having only joined last year), but it only came after I'd already seen the banner on the site and had already changed it. I think it has just taken time for all the emails to be sent out, maybe yours is still coming, Bluebird? Or maybe it went to a junk folder? Either way, at least you saw the message on the site and you know now.

I'm Kentucky Reader at Shelfari I may not be remembered because I've had a year of no activity. I was diagnosed with leukemia January 2015
My approaches for Shelfari import of a lot of books is under Discussions topic "Tips and Hints" starting with message 8. Looking as Shelfari output file by opening with Excel is the first clue to whey some books don't import. At that time it was choking on volumes over 700 or so and thus doing batches is a fair strategy.

When you are on a group's main page ... just underneath the group main info you'll see
DISCUSSION BOARDS .
On the far right of that line, in light grey, you'll see topics: all | new | unread
If you click UNREAD it will pop up a new page with ONLY those threads which have new posts that you haven't yet read. If you click on the RED new link on each thread it will take you directly to the newest post.
Each page has only 50 posts on it. At the end of a page of posts you'll see a little greenish/blueish list of pages like this:
previous 1 2 3 next
Click next to go to the next page. Click a particular page number to go directly to that page.

H, I'm Karin here and at Shelfari with this avatar currently (someday I may change it, but by then Shelfari will be gone.) I've been on Goodreads for a while, but not active since I prefer Shelfari and my second choice is Leafmarks.

Welcome everyone!I know that the loss of Shelfari is a significant blow but I hope you all find a new home here on Goodreads. I remember when I first joined (Shelfari was down for a week or so and was in withdrawal) and it was quite an adjustment.

Yes, that is frustrating. I know because I ran into the same exact issue. You might find this thread helpful. The support folks really helped me out with the import. I still have a rather huge mess to clean up, (hundreds of unwanted shelves and about 50 missing titles), but I can massage that into shape over the coming weeks.
