...they both got hurt. He lied to her friends. He didn't talk to her for a year. All that time he could have used to make her forgive him. (she probably would have been more forgiving then) She doesn't forgive him. He thinks she betrayed him. They both got hurt.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. So she probably decided to ignore the details. She probably didnt know that he still had feelings for her. And that's not true. People also give others the silent treatment when you dislike the person and when you are annoyed by them.
