This discussion covers Chapter 8 & 9, pp. 235 – 303 / Conclusions

Chapter 8 takes us through the war years with Henry and Charles Bon. Faulkner uses a clever device of having Quentin and Shreve time travel back to those years as they discuss the story.

Finally in Chapter 9, Quentin and Miss Rosa drive out to Sutpen’s Hundred and discover Clytie’s secret.

When you finished, did you see any connection to the Doomed House of Atreus theme that we read in The Oresteia? I think it’s no small coincidence that Faulkner named one of the characters ‘Clytemnestra’.
