message 101: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella yeah. how would they be able to make the next movie??? ugh! that movie just was horrible and couldn't even follow a storyline!!!!

message 102: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Like him going to elssmera at the end of the book with Arya is like really important. How is he ment to complete his trading and he won't meet his trainer glaedr and oromis and they are really important because glaedr gives Eragon his eldunarì which is kind of important because it helps them find a weekeness in galbatorix. It was just wrote.

(Writing this I see a lot of red obviously Christopher paolini didn't use word from a dictionary. My siter goes I thought you were a good speller

message 103: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Another important character they forgot was Jeod. He became important through the lines of rowan.

message 104: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella lol that's so cute! :)

message 105: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella yeah and if you don't even introduce him, it will be almost impossible to add him in!!!!

message 106: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Yeah because what is Eragon going to knock on his door (this is in one of the empires main cities) hey Jeod I know I like have no idea who you are but brom is gone. Hey you need for remember me and my dragon face so when my cousin comes you can recognise and help him fins me and katrina (who in actual fact is someone else then haven't introduced)

message 107: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella yeah seriously, they didn't introduce a lot of characters from the book. I just remembered, Brom didn't even die that way he dies in the movie!!!

message 108: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Brom was killed by the (excuse the spelling) raazac after one of their camps was discovered by them. Eragon and saphira and then typed up. Then mertagh comes in and saves the day trying to help save brom (Arya wasn't there) and untying Eragon and saphira.

message 109: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Like mertagh was their in the book and was the one who shot Durza through the forehead.
You know what Durza wasn't killed the same way either

message 110: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella yeah and that was where they should have introduced murtagh! (excuse the spelling)

message 111: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Exactly. Mind you when they found Arya in the mini she was unconscious and stayed that way until they reached the varden. In the movie she was still conscious even when they reached the varden

message 112: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella and when Saphira puts a casket sort of thing over Brom, Eragon is overcome with grief and turns to murtagh as a brother, which is why Eragon is so devastated when Murtagh betrays him. (in the third book)

message 113: by Ethan (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ethan Movie sucks. Couldn't even watch the whole thing

message 114: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella Me too. I watched it once and I could barely watch 12 minutes before I shunned it.

Gauravpati Singh I always like books & their stories better than movie adaptations but I wholeheartedly concur that movie was an absolute waste & an insult to what could have been a decent movie material.I mean I didn't exactly love how story itself panned out at the end in 'Inheritance' but prelude of it all would have made for a good Peter Jackson-type fantasy movies!Everything about the movie was wrong & characters simply lacked depth they have in the books!

message 116: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia I agree

message 117: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella So true!

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

Arya was BLONDE.

There's really nothing more to say.

message 119: by Ella (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ella yeah its pathetic. it was very, VERY low on my standards for movies, which is saying something.

message 120: by [deleted user] (new)

She was BLONDE.

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

BLONDE, you see.

As in, BLONDE.

message 122: by [deleted user] (new)

What I'm trying to get at here is that she was BLONDE!

message 123: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia Hahaha

message 124: by Shauna (new) - rated it 5 stars

Shauna Doyen the movie sucked compared to the book

message 125: by Olivia (new) - rated it 4 stars

Olivia It really did

Joanna Among Paper Petals That is an understatement. I was so excited for that movie to come out, but it was an utter disappointment! The only people I liked in the movie was Jeremy Irons as Brom and even he fell short of the character. I was extremely disappointed in their choice of Arya. I want so badly for someone to remake that movie again, but right.

Georgia It's depends if your comparing it to the book or not. I hated it, but my friends who hadn't read the book loved it.

message 128: by Sara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sara You know a movie is bad when there's no sequel. Eragon sucked, the book was way better. I hate it when the directors ruin a movie, they should have Peter Jackson direct all movies that are based on books. I also hate the fact that people base books on their movies.

message 129: by Rydge (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rydge Lamm okay lets review, so far as I can there are five problems with the movie
1. character acting and description, (
2. the way eragon and saphira communicate ( am i the only one that noticed that?)
3. order of events(broms death ext)
4. small details, murtagh wanted to go to the varden, the star sapphire breaking, ext)
5. big details ( meeting of joed, The raazac being dead, and meeting oromis's mind.)

sooooo... does anyone else want to add to this

Xsnowhite1012X A BIG FAT YES

John the movie should have been renamed something else. it was not the book. Though it did a somewhat decent portrayal of Sephera.

Umm, there is actually a movie call Eragon, and it's mainly different because it's a compliantly different movie but yes, I do get where your coming from. Eragon was just stupid, I loved the books but the movie just didn't live up to it's title or should I say it's not worthy of that title. The book's just too great for the movie!

Xsnowhite1012X I vote for a remake!

Xsnowhite1012X John wrote: "the movie should have been renamed something else. it was not the book. Though it did a somewhat decent portrayal of Sephera."

They should of called it 'The Dragon Rider's Fate'

message 136: by Rydge (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rydge Lamm a flirtatious arya, nuf said

message 137: by [deleted user] (new)

MOVIE WAS AWFUL. 'NUFF SAID.

message 138: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not saying the books were a master piece equal to, say, LOTR, but I greatly enjoyed them, they were well written, and it was a shame to see them butchered in a horrible film.

message 139: by Kjorban (last edited Sep 29, 2013 10:27PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kjorban The first time I watched the movie, I liked it. Then I read the book... I hate the movie.

Stephen Logsdon I really liked the books, and I'm amazed at the age of the author, and the level of support he received from his family, to make the first book such a success. I also thought it tragic what Hollywood did to it, and I wonder where that support went during those negotiations. He could have said no. In the end, he still has a nice series under his belt, and a boat load of cash. Personally, I can only dream of such success for my own attempt at authoring my own labor of love and first novel, Odysseus: Bound.

message 141: by [deleted user] (new)

I saw the film when it came out (before I read the book), but I don't remember how I felt about it. However, I read the book for the first time recently, and it is simply awful. There is no originality in it, the plot is predictable, the writing is sub-par, and Eragon himself? I hate his guts.

I don't see how the film could be much worse.

Mr. Moe the particular movie in question made me give up on every book that is based on a book, because i know that if i go and watch one i will have wasted close to two hours of my life. in other words the movie was an absolute disgrace and the director should be put on a spit and roasted slowly over coals.

message 143: by Rydge (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rydge Lamm they could make galbatorix a good guy

message 144: by Elaine (new) - rated it 5 stars

Elaine Bailey I agree, really bad adaptation, had hardly anything in common with the book at all. So much of the book was important to the story line that it would have been impossible to fit it all in a 2 hour film. I think they would have been better off showing it as a 3 part (6 hours in total) film on the TV, at least that way they could have stuck to the story.

Well, at least they could hav..."

That's 6 or 7 films! But yes, I'd probably agree. Paolini managed to fit so much description, feeling and imagination into all of the books that the screen writers etc would need that many to get it right! I'll re-read the books over and over, but will never bother giving the film a second viewing.

message 146: by Dano (new) - rated it 1 star

Dano Winsky The BOOK sucked! It sucked bad enough that I didn't even bother with the movie. The kid tried to rewrite Star Wars...local-boy-done-good (Luke), a mystical sword (Light-saber), an old mentor (Obi-wan), even the dragon is nothing more than an fantasy version of Luke's X-wing! And what's with the kid's name? Eragon? Seriously? Misspell dragon by one letter? How childish! And I can just picture the teenage author flipping through the pages of his thesaurus to find some big words to throw into his manuscript. Sometimes the big, fancy word just looks silly, Young Christopher. Use words you are used to or you'll come off looking like a kid trying to write a big-boy-book...oh wait! That's what you were when you wrote it!

message 147: by Kayla (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kayla The movie had nothing to do with the book except for some minor events. The movie doesn't even give way to a second movie because they had to go and kill the Razac in the first movie. The Razac aren't even supposed to die until the third book!
The one thing that I did like about the movie is that there was a movie, even thought it was lacking. Some books that I really like don't have movies and I'm sad about that sometimes because I can't see what an awesome adventure everyone has and all of the cool graphics.
( I think I have been babbling for a bit- whoops, sorry)

message 148: by Espen (new) - rated it 5 stars

Espen Shackelford Some people I know thought that the movie was great. They have no lives.
