If you feel like watching an hour or two of modern day fantasy schlock by all means go for it. As a fan of the series you may find some value in seeing the movie just for the sake of it, whether you like it or not it still might be fun. It's not a good movie, but then neither are all the fan-made trailers and half the fan art and fanfics people squee about on a regular basis.
If you are at all able to enjoy movies without actually thinking they're good what do you have to lose?

Which was funny because at first it seemed like they weren't going to go the angle of her having any knowledge of her kind from before, but later she confirms some dragony thing Brom says and there is no basis for her knowing that because it wasn`t established that she`s connected to the ancients.

And then they mushed up all the places and the time in which they should have met Eragon. None of the tings matched up, like they did a lot of travelling (in the book) but in the movie, they like, showed non of that.
I think that the Producers could have done a much better job.

Otherwise you will find it enjoyable as a moderate budget fantasy film, not great but enjoyable.

So I was looking for the movie of Eragon (because I loved the books so much) and I see this movie poster for it.
And I'm like, umm, this is so totally wrong.
Here are some probl..."
How to train your dragon was a movie adaption of a book series for kids. Get your facts right, kiddo.
Back to topic:
At least the movie had some nice effects. The characters in the book are idiots most of the time. Even Brom had his moments. The one person with the most sense is Murtagh.
In the movie you get Eragon portrayed as the arrogant stupid wimp he actually is. That's okay. Since the story was cliche'd fantasy anyway, you can't really be surprised that the movie is too.
I think that the whole story line of the movie was just a disgrace to the books, and that every single event was just made up by the movie business because the book just "didn't fit the movie". Come on guys!!!! The books were amazing and the only thing I really liked about the movie were the actor for Brom, Mur'tahg and Eragon. Arya was a total flop in the movie LETS SEE SOME FIGHT THERE GIRRRRLLLLL!!!!!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ISLANZADI'S DAUGHTER FOR PETE'S FREAKING SAKE!!!!!!

it cannot be compared with the book
it was like a fake story
sapphira grows into a full dragon in 2 minutes!!!
it was disaster...

Though tge chances of anyone doing Eragon again in the near future are slim -.-

It was horrible

You're talking about the wrong movie. The Eragon adaptation was named Eragon. How to Train Your Dragon was an adaptation of a kid's series called How To Train Your Dragon...just saying. If it was supposed to be a joke, then sorry for partially killing it.

The actor who portrayed Brom looked how I pictures the character.
Saphira's voice was excellent.
Oter than that, the only thing they did right was butcher the story so badly that they can't possibly make a sequel. Therefore, they can't screw up any more of the series. Yay!

ME! IT SUCKED! Like, Murtagh is like in it for 5 seconds, Arya isn't even the same SPECIES??? And what happened to the whole journey Eragon was on, I mean, they just cut that whole storyline out right there...it was sooo stupid!
