Mona Garg (k1721m) | 70 comments Hi Poornima :) Mystery/Suspense/Thriller is my favorite genre too. I've always wanted to read Sophie Hannah's books. I read a couple good suspense/thrillers earlier this year:

Creep -- loved it!!! I recently won the sequel,
]Freak
The Sixes

Also, have you read any of Tarquin Hall books. I read only
The Case Of The Missing Servant but will read his other Vish Puri series soon. I also want to try Shamini Flint
Inspector Singh Investigates series.

Don't know if you tried Never Look Away: A Thriller .. Was a good thriller too, though I thought the ending was too dramatic..but kept me completely hooked on.

look forward to exchanging notes/recommendations with you

Demetrius Sherman | 17 comments See that you are a Sherlock Holmes reader, Poornima. Welcome to the club.
I have read Doyle's short stories, and have written a modern short story version of Holmes on Amazon.
I had just finished writing about Holmes when I saw that you are a reader also.

Demetrius Sherman | 17 comments Right. And some episodes of the new Sherlock TV series are great.
Do you think a pretty Asian Watson is a good idea for Elementary?

Oh, and Don't forget to let me know what you think of
my story!

Absolutely loved the BBC version of Sherlock, totally brilliant! Ah, had read about potential US adaptation with lady Watson, am not thrilled about the experiment....
a) sherlock's equation with Watson and their camaraderie would be ruined by a 'lady Watson' b) and frankly wonder if any woman would put up being around Sherlock's eccentricities and his constant show of superiority c) also Watson being local/one of them is what let's him watch Sherlock's back
Sorry, this was a long reply?... What did you think of the Asian lady Watson idea? :)

Demetrius Sherman | 17 comments Just had to comment on your good point.
I had reasons for thinking a pretty Asian Watson was a bad idea, but you make a good point when you state that Watson is supposed to watch Sherlock's back.
In the stories, Watson carried a gun when things were far too dangerous.
Watson throwing Kung Fu would likely look silly and turn it into an action flick.
