After looking at the books King recommends I will nominate
though with so many of the previous nominations already on my TBR list, I would be happy to read any of them.

I am not sure if this was already nominated but I nominate "Skelton Crew" . It would be great for discussion since there are a variety of stories. please someone second it. :)

Dslone wrote: "Wow, really? So sad!"Yea 2001 I believe. He also wrote under the name Richard Kelly. But most of the books I have are as Richard Laymon.

Why are there so many nominations for King books? Isn't this supposed to be for non-King books this month?

And this was recommended by Stephen King in which book or article? Please cite.
I like the thought of reading anything scary for October. Hell House sounds like a good one :-) I would like to recommend Carrion Comfort. "Carrion Comfort" is one of the three greatest horror novels of the 20th century. Simple as that." -- Stephen King

I absolutely loved 'Interview with the Vampire', but I'd nominate 'Dracula' since it's been sitting on my shelf for a while just waiting for me to sink my teeth into it.
Carlos wrote: "I nominate The Girl Next Door ! It is totally creepy!"I just read about this book and it is based on a true story.

Also,
The Collector, John Fowles Is considered to be one of the first psychological thrillers. The book also had "copy cats" who copied the crime of the main character. Interesting read.
I will cast a vote for The Passage since I think I may need to re-read it before I start The Twelve which comes out October 16th.

I also vote for this book - it is AMAZING and a great creepy read for October.
If y'all want to vote for a book, you should do it on the poll rather than in the nomination thread.
