Best place to find accurate page count?

I'm trying to fill in some missing page counts, but when looking on various booksellers and google books etc, the page counts seem to be different on every site I visit! Could anyone please advise where the most accurate page count could be found, if I don't have the physical book available? Also, is it usual for hardback and paperback versions to have different page counts?

We like Worldcat.org - it's information tends to be the most accurate.

And yes, it's very common for Paperbacks and Hardcovers to have differing page counts.

Worldcat or your own personal copy. Amazon is not a valid source and it is always wrong. Also, sometimes the publisher has the accurate page count, but usually not...since they count the preview pages and we do not.
