message 2: by Jon (new)

Jon (jonmoss) | 529 comments I read this last year. I have a hardcover edition I can refer to if needed, but I'm hoping to participate in the discussions without re-reading it at this time. Too much travelling this month to spare time to read (except for audiobooks).

message 3: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I have read, and plan on re-reading possibly this weekend. I'm so excited about this discussion!

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I'm starting it today

message 5: by Amy (new)

Amy (amyhageman) I read this book in December, and will hopefully remember enough about it to discuss.

Megan Ordered my copy from Amazon last week, expecting it any day now.

Marc (authorguy) | 393 comments I read it a few months back.

Terri (terrilovescrows) I am going to try to. I put a hold on it with the library

700 pages in paperback.. but in four days i think i killed 500 pages while keeping up (mostly) with class readings. (ok kinda kept up... depends on what classes you count really...)

Just my kind of book! The length was just right, if only he would have wrapped something, anything up! it was 700 pages of intro to the next book.

LOL - ya that bothered me too

message 16: by Megan (new)

Megan Just joined this group and about to start the book! I was just deciding what book to read next and Name of the Wind has been sitting in my to-read pile...so seeing the upcoming discussion made the decision for me! Looking forward to it...

message 17: by Skip Ryan (new)

Skip Ryan I'm just about wrapping it up!

message 18: by Megan (new)

Megan Finally! My copy got here a bit later than I was expecting, but at last it's here. I've read the first few chapters and am intrigued.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Have now found a copy in the local book store (Australia) so shall buy that to finish the book.

message 20: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Dobbs | 121 comments Finished it in January. I didn't quite get the whole "intro to the next book" vibe, but the author definitely left things very open ended.

message 21: by meleah (new)

meleah (meleahreads) almost finished.

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura (questionableadvice) Still in the beginning stages (page 175).

message 23: by Liz (new)

Liz (fiddledragon) I read it a while ago. I was going to reread it, and opted not to given my current time constraints.

At least you're reading it now when the next book is due out *soon*...I read it soon after it first came out *chuckle*!

Elena I started reading this book months ago and found it boring and put it aside. After I joined GR and saw it here, and saw how everybody seems to like so much, I have picked it up again. I am up to page 325 and I am still waiting for some action, for something to happen...it is very slow for me.
