Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 26 comments You know where one of the clues is "Wedding"? Well, I kind of don't want John to get married to Mary Morstan. John Watson leave Baker Street? England would fall! Seriously though. The show would change soooo much if John got married and left 221B Baker Street.

They might not show him living elsewhere - he might move back in when John realises he's alive (and probably punches him in the face :D)

That being said, they didn't live together in all the original books, so I wouldn't have a problem with it in the show :)

message 107: by AziaMinor (new)

AziaMinor well I just heard that Billie Piper a.k.a ROSE TYLER FROM DOCTOR WHO might be playing john's girlfriend! That's an interesting twist if that happens. ^_^

message 108: by [deleted user] (new)

It wouldn't be a problem for me either. It means they are sticking to the originals. :)

message 109: by Mitchell (new)

Mitchell Fobbester (the-mad-king) | 8 comments It’s worth checking out “Sherlock Holmes: The Rediscovered Railway Mysteries and Other Stories” audio books because they are narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Although they are written by John Taylor, they are written in the style Arthur Conan Doyle, in that the stories are written from the perspective of Watson, it’s quite odd hearing Benedict’s voice and knowing he is playing Watson and not Sherlock. Once you get your head round the character change they are very good stories, I enjoyed them.

He better not marry stupid Mary! Team Johnlock all the way!!! ^_^

It happened in the canon (original Sherlock Holmes books), I don't see the problem with it :S

Mel | 405 comments Mod
Yeah, but in the books I still thought some of their best mysteries were done when they roomed at Baker Street. But the thought of Watson leaving Baker street in BBC Sherlock too makes me sad. I hope they aren't too rushy about it. Meh.

message 113: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilydodd221) Really? Billie Piper? Wow. I don't want John to move out, because a lot of the funniest stuff happens at home. I know he moves out in the books, and that's not so bad, but I don't want John to move out in the BBC Sherlock.

NEITHER WOULD I!!! :D I would love it! Gah, Japan, are you hearing this?!?!?!

message 118: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 02, 2013 02:03PM) (new)

Er, sorry guys I just need to bring up Watson moving out from Baker Street again. I am currently reading the first few pages of The Adventures of The Norwood Builder. After he found out that Sherlock was alive (Thank goodness I was able to supress my emotions reading Holmes' letter to Watson) he sold his practice and went back to Baker St.?! What ever happened to his wife, Mrs. Mary Mostan? I should keep reading or will I not get any explanation? LOL

message 119: by [deleted user] (new)

OMG... I just got my answer from Wikipedia. What an impatient girl I am. She died?!

Sami | 11 comments Clarins wrote: "OMG... I just got my answer from Wikipedia. What an impatient girl I am. She died?!"

Yes, she died :(. Seeing as this is the BBC Sherlock thread, I feel inclined to mention that a lot of people think* Molly from the show is actually Mary Morstan, seeing as they both have a shy personality and a pet called Toby, and Molly can sometimes be a nickname for Mary.

I'm REALLY hoping she's not though, as I like Molly and don't want her to a) marry Watson and b) die.

message 121: by Sinda (new)

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 26 comments I agree on both parts.

Really? The part Molly marrying BBC Watson is weird, I guess? And yes, I wouldn't want her character to die as well. She's too lovely. :)

I agree. I saw no chemistry between Watson and Molly at all. It's just a rumour, though, so I shouldn't worry too much.

I thought Mary was the woman who works for Mycroft in BBC.

Molly irked my soul sometimes in the beginning, but I grew to like her after a while.

message 125: by Mary (new)

Mary (mary694) | 19 comments **spoilers below. BE WARNED!!!**

Amanda Abbington has been cast as a 'significant' character (officially confirmed) and is likely to be Mary (unofficially confirmed).

I'm hoping that maybe she and Watson just meet in this series. I don't want John to move out just yet. I'm wondering how they will develop her as a character (if she is indeed Mary). It would be sweet if they went the same way as the book, with John afraid to 'ask her out' because he thought she was going to be very rich.

OMG that explains I kept seeing her in photographs of Setlock Season 3!. I thought she was being like, a super supportive wife or something :D. Thanks for the info.

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

It would actually be cool. They're together in real life and getting married on a series. Haha

message 130: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilydodd221) I really hope it's not Molly, it would be so weird if she got married to John. To Sherlock is a different story, though. Well, maybe not marriage, but it would be so sweet if they were going out. Anyone agree? Or is it just me?

"Er...Anthea."
John: "Is that your real name?"
"No."
