Review:
I can't do this review with out millions of spoilers so don't read if you haven't read this book. That being said, now I remember why I didn't rush out and read this book when it came out, the series became boring for me. The first 20 percent of this book was mostly re-cap (aside from the fire bombing of Merlots) which was good for me because I remembered NOTHING that was going on at first, but all that re-cap would have been annoying if I was reading this series straight through. Sookie Stackhouse is caught up in a whole bunch of messes once again. Her job is losing customers and was bombed by a crazy enemy of hers, her fairy cousins are being strange (I'm dissapointed in Claude and Dermonts' characters, I like my fairies to have more personality) Debbie Pelt's sister Sandra is after Sookie's blood because she believes Sookie murdered Debbie, She found a letter from her dead Gran paired with a small magical love charm that she doesn't know what it is at first, The new acting vampire regent Victor wants to kill her (seems like everyone does) and is causing major problems for Eric and Pam and all in between this she is planning Tara's baby shower. I feel like Charline should have picked only a few of these plots to play out, each one didn't get as much time and focus because there was so much going on and it made it all drag on and on. There is one very cool bloody scene in the end where I felt happy with the outcome, other then that I was disappointed with each situation. She ends up finding a way to dissolve her blood bond with Eric (she didn't really think it through in my opinion) and then guess who comes back in the picture, Bill (ugh, he's so gross). There has been so much time in all the books spent on her love life, and now it seems back to square one. I could complain for a while longer, but I wont :) I'm over this series (for now at least)

That means it's time for a stamp!

I have looked forward to reading this because there are so many good things said about this book. I was expecting it to start with more of a bang but it was very slow. Beatrice literally transforms herself in to Tris by the end of the book and Tris is awesome. What i really liked is that she would get angry and want to get back at the people who hurt her. She does not start out as kick ass but she makes her way there by the end. Four is also someone who has the potential to be very swoon worthy but not yet. Once i got to the halfway mark this book was worth the wait.

thanks to everyone for the kind words, this is a great group.

Don't flame me, but I'm disappointed in this book. Everyone on my Goodreads list seemed to love it and rave about it. While it started off well, the Twilight similarities just kept on cropping up all over the place. It's not as if I actually remember the whole Twilight story unless prompted. The whole thing just seemed to be like a Twilight ripoff, the entire plot was just so close to it, it was bizarre.
It's pretty much Twilight, but with aliens. Granted, you have a much better main character who isn't so docile and annoying like Bella but she STILL needs saving. The main character is a hot alien douche repelled by the main character, Katy, because she may put them all in danger. And the punchline - he doesn't sparkle, but he GLOWS. He's light itself. If that doesn't have your alarm bells ringing I don't know what does.
See if I hadn't read Twilight I would probably think this was the best thing since sliced bread, but I have so I can't bring myself to rate this over 3 stars. I probably won't continue this series, because the heavy 'borrowing' from Ms Meyer just isn't something I'm comfortable with. I read the blurb and already I'm getting similarities again, like the Department of Defence = Volturi and hot new boy = Jacob. No thanks.

Dark Fantasy book finished :)
Shelf for Nov 4:Dark Fantasy
Book Chosen:Betrayals~ Lili St. Crow
Date Read:Nov 6,2012
Rating:4♥♥♥♥
Review:In Betrayals we return to Dru Andersons world of vampires, werewolves and zombies it's a book that is so action packed that I read the entire thing in one sitting and can't wait to go back for more.
Dru is a kick ass heroine that knows how to take care of herself and fight just as dirty as any boy can, she has a good sence of herself and often follows her gut when she know things aren't right. Graves her maybe boyfriend is my favorite character of the series just for his total loyalty to Dru even if he isn't sure where he stands with her, he always has her back and fights to protect her no matter the cost and of course this YA Novel wouldn't be complete without the brooding half vamp Chris who is also on Dru's radar for his good looks, crappy attitude and he smells like Apple pie how could she resist that right? :)
All in all this was a great read and I will most definately be going to read the next book in the series, I can't wait to see what else is instore for Dru, Graves and Chris.

Book Chosen: Iced by Karen Marie Moning

Review:
Oh my gosh I FREAKING LOVED IT!! Super ultimate, best book of the year hands down. This book takes place right where the Fever Series left off, but in Dani's pov instead of Mac's. There is way to much to get into without spoiling everything so I wont even try. I will say that Karen Marie Moning is my second favorite author of all time and I will read (and probably enjoy) any and everything she writes. She could scribble on a napkin and I would pre-order it. The story line, characters and world in Iced are amazing. I finished Iced late at night, but purposely left the last two pages to read in the morning, just because I was so sad it was over. If you haven't read the Fever Series, you must, and if you have, then go read Iced right now :)

I really have enjoyed these books so far. I love Ash and Puck, they are some of my favorite characters that i have read. I liked this book because Meghan and Ash are togther all through this book. He is very devoted and affectionate to Meghan. I do hate the heroine must sacrifice everything to save everyone else. Just once i want her to say, no i am going to have my man. Meghan becomes the iron queen and now Ash is left wondering where that leaves him.

I had to make this my dark fantasy pick because i needed to know what happened to Ash. I really enjoyed this book because it is all told by Ash. It is his adventure to make his way back to Meghan in the iron kingdom. He had to travel to the end of the world and face trials to get a soul and make himself human. Throughout his journey he is joined of course by his sometime friend Puck, Grimalkin and the big bad wolf, who i loved. I was shocked when Ash found his long lost love Ariella, this made me very nervous for Megahan. This is my favorite book of the series. Ash is just awesome. When Ash gets a look at his future as a human he sees how he gets old but Meghan does not. This confused me because i thought humans did not age in Faery. Meghan's dad had not aged so why all of a sudden will Ash. That is not the end but i do wish there had been some time at the end with them together but it ended when Ash came back to Meghan. The end. What!!! I guess it is good when you are left wanting more, sucks when its the last book!!

Title/Author: Reign of Blood by Alexia Purdy
Shelf: Dark Fantasy
Read: 09/11/2012
Rating: ★★★★
First time author? Yes
To-Be-Continued? Yes
April Tate is a survivor amongst the post-apocalyptic world with a single goal that keeps her breathing – to find her brother and mother. A viral epidemic has sweeped the nations and turned the population into feral, mindless vampires who are solely out for feeding on humans. The feral vampires are very zombie-like in their demeanour, in fact throughout the first half of the novel I had a hard time differentiating them from actual zombies, except for the fact that they are repelled by sunlight.
Reign of Blood is pretty much I Am Legend in the first half of the book. April is a kick-ass, badass lone survivor who decapitates vampires with her machete. I absolutely loved the action and the tense, heart-pounding action here. Like the movie, the author creates a sense of building tension and horror that the zombies/vampires could jump out at you at any time, and that totally resonates with me.
The plot thickens as April discovers a new breed of vampire hybrids who are very human-like in their behaviour and are not affected by bloodlust, like the ferals. She discovers that everything she knew is not as it seems.
While I did love the premise of Reign of Blood, it was the insta-love later that made me grumble. It’s a pet peeve of mine, where there’s absolutely no build up or relationship building whatsoever. Luckily, it wasn’t enough of a focus to detract from the story.
Reign of Blood is not the most original story out there and it doesn’t try and be too complicated. It’s pretty much a survival horror with a twist on the zombie/vampire genre. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend that you read it if you love the sound of it!
I received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for this opportunity, I look forward to reading your other work Alexia!

It was nice to come back into Cat and Bones's world, even if this wasn't from their point of view. I always love it when an author takes much beloved characters and gives them their own story.
Spade had a heart breaking background and I fell for him...hard. I also liked Denise. I loved how she grew and changed and wasn't willing to sit back and do nothing while the man (vampire) she loves is threatened.
Getting to see Bones and Cat was great. As was seeing Mencheres and Ian. Can I say I really hope Ian gets a book? ;)
