I've pulled some ligaments in my back, hopefully it wont affect my reading but I can't promise with the painkillers I've been given. I'll be staying offline for a couple of days til I am a bit more with it. If I start not making sense you know why ;)

Thanks for the updates everyone, I have been posting late at night lately and distracted, so I figured I had missed some. Things are a bit stressful at work, my husband and I work at the same company and there are some drastic end of year cutbacks happening, so I've been a bit preoccupied. I haven't been checking in as much lately so I figured I had overlooked some stuff.Michelle, that sounds awful, I hope you feel better, if you are even seeing this, take care and don't worry about us.
Amanda, I love the Fool's Gold series, the most recent one was probably my fav... featuring Charlie the firefighter. Not sure if you have met her yet or not by book #5.

I wasn't sure how Larissa would pull this one off, I was a little scared that she wouldn't be able to make me fall in love with Reseph. I really need to stop doubting that woman! Everytime she manages to surprise me, there was twists in this book that I didn't expect and damn did I fall for Reseph. I loved the ending how it perfectly sets up the next book while wrapping up so many plot threads. I can't wait to revisit the Demonica world, the little teasers in this just weren't enough!

Review:
TbaA was an easy read about Kitty Katt (her actually name, JESUS) who's a manager. She takes down this creepy winged thing who's killing people outside a courthouse and now she's been introduced to a secret world filled with ALIENS.
I liked Touched. I thought the plot lines were intriguing and the characters were funny and endearing (including the four dogs & three cats Kitty's parents owns). I did however have a hard liking Kitty. She was possibly the biggest Mary Sue I've ever had the misfortune to come across. Somehow she knew the answers to EVERY SINGLE QUESTION OR PROBLEM (I am not exaggerating in the least) that these super intelligent, experienced aliens had failed to solve. It was extremely unrealistic given that before this she was just a manager and Kitty has no experience in weapons or training in the military. She's just your average girl.....who knows everything about everything for absolutely no reason.
Then there's the romance. Kitty & Jeff Martini, her alien rescuer had no chemistry whatsoever. He professed to care about & love her and Kitty said she was attracted to him, but she gave no indication that she wouldn't hop into bed with ANY guy who gave her the slightest bit of attention. This not good given that apparently in later books (view spoiler). Kitty actually (view spoiler). How am I supposed to get with Jeff & her relationship after that?
I want to continue this series because it's exciting and the supporting characters are wonderful. But I don't buy Kitty & Jeff's relationship & I DEFINITELY don't think I could endure another round of ALL-KNOWING KITTY. I'm gonna give it one more try and if it doesn't work out, this series can kick rocks. So many books, so little time, right?

Guess I just rolled with all of that without thinking about the high Yeah-Uh-Huh factor. LOL! May not be for you though b/c it clicks along like that in the next two as well, from what I remember.

Fourth Grave picks up two months following the events in Third Grave Dead Ahead and Charley is battling some PTSD. And, by battling, I mean she's rackin' up a serious stash of midnight home shopping network purchases, hasn't left her apartment in that time and is wondering why she's never named her sofa. She does have a strong penchant for naming things ~ body parts, cars, and such, so the sofa bit isn't too far off the norm for her. But, she's lost her mojo and her new eau de toilette, fear scent, is making the demons drool. Her BFF, Cookie and her family are determined to help her stop hoarding and get back out there. A new case, or two or three, help motivate her as well.
The previous installments' build-up toward a hell-on-earth all-out-war with demons was slightly touched on throughout the book. Things are happening that shouldn't be and Charley meets 'the Englishman', someone Reyes knows all too well. Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Reyes opens up a bit and shares some of what he knows about Charley and her ancestry. And, speaking of Reyes ~ you'll wanna go into slomo around Chapter 17 when Reyes helps Charley overcome her fear of 'Area 51'. No matter what seems to happen between these two - good or bad - they cannot stay away from each other. Their powerful attraction is highly combustible; I hope they can both survive it.
As always, the t-shirt and bumper sticker quotes had me laughin'. Charley's ADD was a bit contagious in this installment. The story, maybe because we spend so much time in her head, tended to be a bit all over the place, but was never hard to follow along. We reunite briefly with some fan-favorites: Rocket, Artemis, Donovan and other Bandits. We also get to meet a cutie clairvoyant, Quentin, who I hope will appear in future installments.
Darynda LOVES cliffhangers, but this one was a bit more of a confirmation for me instead of a surprise. I was very relieved to learn I'd guessed correctly and cannot wait to find out what happens next. As with every book in this series, I'm already anxiously awaiting the next book, which in this case is Fifth Grave Past the Light due on 11 July 2013.

I am ready with Kiss of Midnight if Shifters is called or Claimed By Shadow if Psychic is called. If Shifters is called, we need to finish our Favorite Series and 2012 shelves. If Psychic is called, we need to finish our Dark Fantasy shelf.According to Rachel there is a 73% chance that a game ending shelf will be called tomorrow. Really hoping it is Shifters called since we are on our own and would have all week to get caught up and to read all six of our books. Keeping my fingers crossed that Mr. Randomizer really likes us!

Susan Mallery is one of my favorite authors and I love the Fool's Gold series. It is a very quaint town and each book feels like catching up with old friends. Montana and Simon's story had a "Beauty and the Beast" feel to it and I enjoyed watching them evolve as a couple and finally getting their HEA. I look forward to reading the last of the Hendrix triplets, Dakota's story in the next book.

I didn't like them much at first, they were just so-so, but I LOVED Charlie's book.

I first saw this book on the GR Choice awards in the Romance category and decided to give it a try. The plot is predictable and unoriginal, but it was still a fun, entertaining romance. Alexa and Nick were charming characters with great chemistry and there were also a few LOL moments for me in the dialogue between them. Jennifer Probst is a new author for me. I enjoyed her writing style and look forward to reading the next book in this series.
