Demon Shelf: The Darkest Night
Date Finished: October 25th
Rating:★★★☆☆
Review:
The world building was pretty awesome. This group of men opened the box. Yeah. Pandora's box. When the demon's escaped each man became attached to a demon as punishment. That I loved. Broody, dangerous "me want my woman" alpha males? Sign.me.up.
I am a huge PNR fan but give me something new! We have a heroine who is pained and cursed but SURPRISE! it all disappears while in the presence of a sexy, uber-alpha immortal. Really, what better reason to love someone after three days? I wasn't feeling the chemistry between Maddox and Ashlyn. They seemed to be in love right away and I couldn't seem to figure out why.
Like I said, I loved the world building and am intrigued enough to continue with the series. And because Steph told me to. ;)

I read this book during the last bingo round and felt similar about it. I think I gave it 3 stars as well. I still might read the next just to see if things improve.

Review: I read Wanderlust (book two of the Sirantha Jax series), because I thought the first book, Grimspace, showed a lot of potential. Even though there were a lot of things that bugged me about the characters and writing style of Grimspace, I did enjoy the story and wanted to know a little more. That being said, Wanderlust still had the same first person writing style that I found so annoying in the first book; but since I am use to it now, it didn’t bother me quite as much. Since we were always in Sirantha’s head, I still feel I was missing out on a lot of the story involving the other characters when they weren’t in Sirantha’s vicinity. For example, there was quite the battle scene going on with March and some of the others, but we have no idea what happened, because Sirantha wasn’t there. I must say that I really liked Sirantha much better in this book; not sure how her transformation took place, but she showed a much softer, caring, less selfish side this time around. The story itself was entertaining enough that I might pick up the next in the series. However, I still come away feeling that this book could have been so much more than it was.

At first when I started reading this book, I didn't know what to expect besides it's a young adult Peresphone mythology based book. This was a very enjoyable book. The ending was sad, but I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series!

It's on the shelf http://www.goodreads.com/work/shelves...
:) I can't wait to read that one as well...I still have two more from the Night Huntress series to read first though. Hope you enjoy!

One of my all time favorite series! I hope you enjoy it."
Hmm... good to know. Maybe I'll get to it in another shelf.

I don't think you need to catch up on the NH books in order to read Once Burned if you wanted to.

I almost picked that one too...maybe next shelf :) I loved the Fever series!

I'm sure you are right...just a personal preference thing :)

I know, I do the same thing. Can't read books out of order no matter who tells me they can be read as a stand alone.

One of my favorites! I can't fecking wait!

Wow! I read this in one sitting! That alone could be my review.I have loved (and lusted after) Vlad since he first appeared in the Night Huntress series. I always enjoyed his repartee with Cat and his constant needling of Bones. I was so happy that he found Leila. Leila was electrocuted as a teenager and now lives with a vampire in a traveling carnival to hide her disability/ability. Leila holds electricity in her body and can "see" the past and future of anyone she touches. Together, Vlad and Leila are HOT! Pun intended :-) Excellent characters, excellent story! Now I am mad at myself for devouring this book, but yum!

Review: Crave, the second book in J.R. Ward’s Fallen Angels series, did not disappoint. The game is still afoot with the fates of Heaven and Hell at hand. Jim is still trying to save seven souls before they can be lost to Devina, a demon. In this book we meet Isaac and Grier, both trying to understand and escape things from their pasts. Isaac is Special Ops (which always makes for a great story IMO). The romance between the two was very quick and intense, but believable; which is sometimes tricky to pull off. Again we see Adrian and Eddie (Jim’s “helpers”)… A couple of “tough guys” who happen to be two of my favorite characters; and I hope we get to learn much more about them in future books. The story only takes place over a few days, but the pace is good with several battle scenes to keep things exciting. This book is a little darker than the first, and one scene in particular may be quite disturbing to some. Also, the ending to this book was unexpected, but seemed to work for the series. Overall though, another great installment… I will definitely be reading the next in the series!

Review: Not one of my favorites book in this series. I didn't like the beginning for the book at all but it did start getting better. I do like this series don't get me wrong, I want this series to end already. I really didn't like Zoey in this book but I haven't liked her in the other book either. So that is not new. I just hoped she would have gotten better. I guess that is it.

I own the first 7 House of Night books in hardcover, but only read the first 2 books in the series 3 years ago. I think I'll wait until all the books are out before I go back to rereading the series because it seems only one book is being released a year lately whereas before, there was two being released a year.

Kiss of Night was an amazing vampire novel and I greatly enjoyed reading it! I loved the mystery and suspense in this novel. I am really glad that it is part of a series, as I want to learn more about these characters, and hope to be able to read the next book very soon.

Happy Halloween! No, I'm not dressing up today or doing anything that fun for Halloween. My family wants me handing out candy to any trick or treaters that comes by, going to have take out for dinner tonight, and maybe watch Snow White and the Huntsmen or another movie tonight with my family. I hope I can get some reading done in between the trick or treaters.
