Review:
Dani is Mega. She’s just trying to look out for the humans who can’t look out for themselves. ‘Cause that’s, like, what superheroes do, right? Help those who are helpless. Have courage for those who are frightened. She is Mega. She is the.feckin.Mega.
Dani
Dani is smart, tenacious, arrogant, and has some b.a.l.l.s. She is fourteen but through her experiences she is a far cry from any “normal” fourteen year old. She is beyond her years in her knowledge of the world, but, at the same time, is very naïve. She sees things in black and white. She refuses to believe people can be both light and dark. You’re either with Dani or you better run the other feckin’ direction. Fast. But this is just Dani on the surface, her armor. She is breaking inside, she shows tiny little glimpses of this but immediately retracts these emotions. She’s breaking from the loss of her mother and of the best friend she’s ever known. She has many authority figures surrounding her who love her, but she doesn’t let them get too close. When people get too close they like to have too much control. She doesn’t like being put in a cage.
Ryodan
He’s egotistical, bossy and just plain rude at times. He’s the owner of a club that allows Fae and humans to fraternize and anything goes. Ryodan has taken Dani under his wing, by, of course, manipulation. How else? There couldn’t be another way to show he cares? Not for Ryodan. It’s obvious he cares and worries for the kid. But why? He’s been protecting her for longer than she knows. Why? It’s clear he loves her. Why? And in what way? I have my theories on this. But we all know what happens when we assume anything in the Fever series.
Christian
Christian is my new Barrons. He made me melt and swoon and go all mushy gushy inside. I adored how much he just adored His Girl. It was weird to me at first, considering her age, but Christian is clear on how he feels and why he loves Dani. I loved Dani’s complete innocence and cluelessness on the matter. Christian’s looking at Dani all lusty-eyed and then there’s Dani, “Dude, why the feck you lookin’ at me like that? I got somethin’ on my face?” Priceless. She has not a clue. While he was very swoon-worthy, he had some psycho “I am an Unseelie Prince” moments. It was heartbreaking seeing what is happening to Christian. He is quickly progressing from Highlander to Unseelie Prince. Will he wait for Dani? Will he succumb to his Unseelie instincts? Can he control it? Even in his Unseelie moments he loves Dani but his love turns into almost an obsession.
It was epic. It was Mega. It was everything I’ve come to expect from KMM. She has a way of writing a story that is so utterly engaging that it haunts me in my dreams. She can write a story that feels complete, I feel a sense of closure, but still leaves me hanging on to the last second and now I’m salivating for more. I finished this book with more questions than answers, and I wouldn’t have it any other way when it comes to AWC Dublin.

Review:
I read the first book 2 years ago when it came out and surprisingly, I still remember the important parts of what happened in that book so it wasn't a problem at all reading the second book in this series. I'm in love with this series. I think it's fascinating that some facts of Edgar Allan Poe are incorporated into these books.
In this book, Isobel is trying to get to Varen and save him from the dreamworld of Lilith's. You see, Isobel the cheerleader loves Varen the goth boy and would do anything to save him. Towards the end of the book, she finally finds him, but finds out he has changed. He pushes her off the cliff and then is back in the real world in the hospital where the people are trying to revive her while she's outta of her body and can't really remember what happened. When she rejoined her body, a wail escapes her because she remembered everything.
This was an amazing book! I wished there was more Varen in this book because he's one of my favorite characters. I hope some of my unanswered questions will be answered in the next book. Also, I really hope the release date for the third book won't get pushed back because that will just be torture waiting to read it when you wanna know what's next for Isobel, Varen, and company. Reading this story makes me want to watch the movie, The Raven.

This book was just alright. I didn't care for the instant love between the two main characters, it was too much too fast. Also, with the whole afterlife concept it seemed to be building up to something big, but then it just fell flat. There were a lot of things left unfinished, so I guess if I want to know badly enough I will have to read the next book - though I haven't yet decided if I will read it.

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'demons'.

Review: As much as I loved Shadow Game, the first book in Christine Feehan’s GhostWalkers series; this second book, Mind Game, just fell flat for me. Although this book picks up where the first left off, I felt as if I were reading a story from a completely different writer. All the intrigue, excitement, action, and adventure that was in the first book, was just not there in this one. In the first book we were introduced to the GhostWalkers and learned about their creation and special abilities. This second book focuses on one of these GhostWalkers, Nicolas, and another newly discovered GhostWalker named Dahlia. The first problem for me was that I just couldn’t like these two characters at all. Dahlia was described as being a brave, strong, fearless secret agent involved in many extremely dangerous missions; but I didn’t find her to be brave and fearless at all. When we meet her, she is actually very nervous and scared all the time, as well as extremely whiny and emotional. There is no believable way that she could ever have survived on her own as long as she did without someone like Nicolas to take care of her. Because of this, the story just didn’t make sense. Nicolas was also described as being extremely independent and a loner, as well as one of the best special ops out there; but as soon as he meets Dahlia, all he seems to be able to do is either have sex with her, or think about having sex with her, 24 hours a day. I’m not saying that I don’t like a good sex scene every now and again, but this was definitely overkill. The storyline really dragged on with a little action sprinkled in every now and then amongst all the talking, whining, crying, and sex. Bottom line is I was bored throughout most of the story, and had a difficult time finishing. I was so excited to read this book after the first in the series, but now I’m not so sure I want to go any further.

This is the second book in the Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein series and just like the first book, I found it to be an okay read overall. There were just one thing that stood out that kinda annoyed me with this book. For example, Elizabeth and Henry were kinda ganging up on Victor in this one. Not sure if there will be a third book for this series. If there is, then I'll read when it comes out.

I was completely surprised at how much I enjoyed this book! What a great follow up to The Darkest Night. Anya has been secretly been watching the keeper of the demon Death, Lucien, and is enthralled with him. But at her approach, Lucien is immediately suspicious of her. Lucien has deep insecurities about his scarred body and refuses to believe that a woman such as Anya could be attracted to him. Not to mention that Lucien was given the task by their new god, Cronus, to kill Anya. Well, Anya was having none of that and gives as good as she gets.
Lucien said it best: "Anya enjoyed stealing, often lied, could kill without remorse, could not make love, and yet he cherished her." Anya was witty, charming and a little ornery. She is one of the most likable characters I've ever read. She was unashamed in her attraction to Lucien and played all her sexy tricks on him. Lucien tried (and failed miserably) to resist Anya's charms and keep her at arms length, but who can resist the goddess of anarchy? Especially one who had sexual innuendo in everything she said. Lucien did have a hard time accepting that Anya could be attracted to him but once he he did, whew, the chemsitry between these two was off the charts.
I loved this book. The scenes with the rest of the Lords has me intrigued and panting, ready to read more of this sexy world Ms. Showalter has created.

Elena is back as the only female werewolf. Just as she is accepting her role in the pack, she is kidnapped by a crazed billionaire. Ty Winsloe is one of the most despicable characters I have read in a long time. He kidnaps paranormals for experimentation and then hunts them. Elena is such a strong character and I really enjoyed seeing her reason through such adversity. Of course, Jeremy and Clay are trying to find a way to rescue her. A new group of characters are introduced that will carry on the series. I'm not sure why this has been on my bookshelf for so long. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in the series....which is also on my bookshelf! Excellent read!

Review: I don’t usually read too many fantasy books. I picked up this one mainly because the author, James Clemens, also writes awesome thrillers under the pen name James Rollins. One of the things I like about James Rollins is his superb writing style that always pulls me into any of his stories right from the get go. This story by James Clemens was no different. The many characters were all intriguing, the action was intense, and the pace was perfect…all of these things are what make, for me, a great story. I really felt a camaraderie with these characters, and wanted to find out what was to happen to them. I felt a little cheated by the conclusion of the story, because things do not end all tied up in a nice neat little package. There is definitely much more to this story. I feel that further reading of the next books in this series is a must, in order to feel fully satisfied. I must also say that many reviewers have complained about all the apostrophes throughout the book…I’m not sure of the purpose of these, but they didn’t distract me at all. I am looking forward to the next one!

Review:
Levi meets Jamie, his massage therapist, at a time in his life when all he cares about is his next conquest. So what does he do? Hit on Jamie, naturally. We learn pretty early on that Jamie has a deeply troubled past and still has emotional scars that causes him to have fear of being touched. When Levi comes on too strong Jamie is completely put off and wants nothing to do with the other man. Levi is able to finagle his way back into Jamie’s life but with a very strict ‘no touchy, no feely’ rule set in place.
As their relationship and friendship grows Levi begins to realize how much he loves his best friend Jamie. This is when I realized how much I love Levi. He proves just how much he loves Jamie with his patience. He keeps his desires hidden so he won’t frighten Jamie. Levi changes his selfish lifestyle choices for him and keeps Jamie safe, all without Jamie fully understanding why. Levi doesn’t ask for anything in return, this wasn’t a ploy to prove his love. He just does these simple, thoughtful gestures for Jamie simply because he loves him. It was beautiful, touching, and perfect for a sappy heart like mine.
Levi also deals with his Mormon family who loves him but highly disapproves with his lifestyle choice. This is a constant battle between him and his family. I thought this was very well done. Levi being gay and the drama it causes with the family, effects everyone involved. He’s not the only one who’s tired of the “talk” but his brothers and sisters are as well, and I was glad to see them start to stand up for Levi. Having experienced this in my own life, and being that sister who’s tired of it, I thought Ms. Sexton portrayed parents who love their son but at the same time don’t condone his lifestyle very realistically.
This was such a wonderful, touching, loving story of two men battling demons from their past and then looking forward together. I need a sequel!

Review: This is definitely a captivating medical thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed learning (probably more than I wanted to know…scary) about prions. I also enjoyed the historical aspect of this story (Guatemala and the Mayan culture). Both of these elements make for a good story in my opinion. The pace of the story was good…a real page turner throughout most of the story. What I didn’t like so much about the book were the two main characters…not very likeable or memorable…and still not sure what the point of Victor’s character was. I also felt the ending was quite rushed (I understand that 12.21 was approaching quickly and the author needed to wrap things up :), but I would have loved for Chel and Gabe to have spent more time in the jungle together searching for the lost temple and the cure. It all just happened a little too fast. I rate it a 3.5, but will round up to a 4. Not quite spectacular, but overall an entertaining read!

The start of this book was very slow. I didn't like how the people in Tiger Lily's village treated her especially Aunt Fire and her son Giant who treated her like a slave for most of the book. I especially didn't like the Englander, Phillip when he broke Tiger Lily's father, Tik Tok. The best parts of this book was when Tiger Lily was with Peter Pan and the Lost Boys although when Wendy showed up and Peter and the boys paid more attention to Wendy than Tiger Lily, which I really disliked. I really wished Tiger Lily and Peter stayed together, but they both found their own happiness in the end.

One if the best werewolf books I have read in a long time. I know I said that before but I am really saying that now. I love Kathleen Peacock take on the werewolf and the government. (view spoiler) I really liked Mac and Kyle being together. At first Jason I didn't like him cause he was a jerk.(view spoiler) I think that is it but I can't wait to read the next book.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

This is a debut book and I wasn't sure what to expect. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Thad is the new king of the vampires. He and his second in command, Lee, have been looking for Thad's queen. He finds her at a rave as she is feeding from a young woman. Isabel does not see herself as royal and hesitates to be with Thad. Enter the wizards. Apparently wizards are trying to wipe out the vampire race after they steal certain traits fron the vampires. I really enjoyed some of the secondary characters as much if not more than Thad and Isabel. Isabel's friend Alexia is a force to be reckoned with. Thad's sister, Tyra, is amazing. Lee and Siddoh are just lust worthy. Huge cliffhanger at the end of the book. Will most definitely read the next one.
