Book: Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison

Finished: 31 October 2012
Rating: ★★★★
Review:I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the next book in the Hallows series. I liked the supporting characters (go Jenks!) more than I liked Rachel - she's one of those frustrating characters who thinks she's all that and yet she doesn't know things that I think should be obvious to someone in her line of business...
The plot was interesting enough to keep me interested and it really ramped up towards the end.

Review: It was good. Plenty of action, but it was hilarious sometimes too. There's a couple of chapter in the middle of the book where I was trying to not laugh like a crazy person. Of course, I was reading them at work, which made it even harder. *sighs* Poor Harry.
I liked most of the characters. Harry and Bob are probably my two favorites right now. Them together.... LOL!
I will definitely be continuing with the series as I get my hands on the books. It seems like it will be a lot of fun.

Oh, I picked

I liked Onyx when I read it... enough to preorder Opal as soon as I finished.

Book read: Extreme Exposure

My review: This book kept me on the edge of my seat! Usually this level of suspense is tough to maintain throughout the book, but this one did it beautifully. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'Series Catch-up'.
[Your updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D

Finished my Favorite Series book.
I'll get my review up and us updated tomorrow. Gonna try to catch a nap before I have to work in 4 hours.

Review:
Charley's got a lot on her plate this time around. Reyes is hiding from her, Cookie has a missing friend and a ghost in her trunk.
I like that there was a glimpse into the family dynamics, but I definitely want more. Charley learns more about her powers and Reyes. I want an eventual happy ending, but it isn't looking good. I'll keep reading the series because I like Charley and the band of misfits she has surrounded herself with.

Rating: ★★★
I guess I'm just not much for anthologies. Even with all my background knowledge about the characters, I had a hard time getting into these short stories. I did enjoy "Grace" and hope this will be developed into a series at some point.

We should be ready for a couple of stamps though. I've got to write up two reviews for you all.
I'm currently working on my 2012 book,

I'll be back soon. :-)

Book: Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Rating:★★★★★
Finished: 14 November 2012
Review: I've been excited about this book ever since I finished reading Delirium. And I wasn't let down. There were so many little twists and turns that I wasn't expecting that I was constantly surprised and couldn't put the book down until I finished it.
I loved how Lena's character had changed since the first book. She's believable in her transformation and I really enjoyed how she evolved in this book.
Sorry for the brief review but I'm trying again not to be a super gushy fan girl over this book. I loved Pandemonium and can't wait for Requiem.

Book: Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder

Finished: 13 November 2012

Review:I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It's got so many things that I enjoy - a kick ass heroine who isn't afraid to do what is right even when it's the hardest thing she could do. A band of misfits who have a mission. And a world that interests me.
Avry is a fantastic character who is fairly decisive and when she's not there is clear rationale behind her decisions. She doesnt lead anynne on and although she's incredibly tough there are times when I could feel her heart breaking because of the terrible situations the plague and the Evil King has put the people of the fifteen realms into.
I'm thrilled that I got an ARC of the second book in this series so I can get on and find out what happens next straight away!

Review: Aaaah! I loved it! There's just something about this series that sucked me in. I bet it's the hottie alien, Daemon. Lol.
This one had some great action and romance in it. Aww.... Some crazy stuff was happening to Katy too. Will be cool to see what happens next. Only one month till

Review: I liked it. Joy and Raphael were sweet. The Dark Ones seem pretty interesting. It was pretty funny like all the dragon books the author has written.
I'll probably continue with the series sometime, but I'm in no rush.

I finished Hidden on 11/16/12. Rating: 4 stars
This installment in the House of Night was suspenseful and kept me reading. I had some trouble with the sudden shift in Kolona but otherwise, I felt it was a good continuation of the story. I'm not sure what happened with the seer stone with Neferet but I think that will be clearer with the next book.

Book: The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst
Finished: 18-11-12

Review:
Not too bad, standard fare but nothing to write home about. It reminded me a little of the old mills & boon novels with miscommunications, secrets, and stupid pride at the forefront of a relationship with great sex, which magically manages to come good for the HEA ending.

Review:
It's been a few years since I last visited Nightside and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I was caught up. John Taylor's mother finally makes her appearance to take over and he does his best to stop her. It is hard to say I enjoyed the story as so many familiar figures (both good and bad) were killed, but the series has been leading here since the beginning and it was nice to finally have it out.

Book: ReVamped by Ada Adams

Review:
This is one of those books that I picked up and finished before I even realized it. The style is so easy and fun to read. The characters are very likeable too. I adore Dawn from the start. She's a strong, independent warrior who has a softer side to her as well. I found her gang of misfit vampires to be delightful although at times they felt a little too stereotypical. I love a bad boy and Sebastian was no exception. He's gorgeous, a little broody and I thought he was a perfect match for Dawn.
I was surprised when I reached the end of the book that all the events happen over a month time-frame The pacing felt right and natural to me. I found myself a little shocked that the inept vampires of Angel Creek were able to transform themselves in that time. The differences between Born and turned vampires were interesting and consistent across the novel.

This book takes up right where the 2nd book left of. While the love triangle was resolvedish at the end of the 2nd book this one really completely ended it (yay!). Ari decides in this book she wants to be a hunter, so she can go after people that are coming after her, and spends the first part of the book training. Like most Samantha Young books I've found they tend to start off a bit slow, and have super action packed 2nd halfves, which can make it hard to get into a book, but makes for a nice ending. They also resolved the whole reason people are hunting her in this book, so I'll be interested to see what happens in the (delayed) 4th book, especially now that it will be the final book.
Apart from my review can I say I'm super sorry for being MIA, you know the whole saying when it rains it pours, it's just been a bit of one thing after another lately, I would have posted much sooner but didn't have internet access for the past few weeks :( I'm hoping now that I'm home (and knock on wood) things have calmed down, I can catch up super quickly.

Well, great reading, everyone! I had a bunch of fun!
Hope to see you all for Round 7.

Review:
Still loving this series! This review is very hard to not include spoilers in, there's so much going on. Must admit, some of the emotional developments were surprising, as far as relationships go, Merit's moving into the house have created problems in her dealings with Mallory and Ethan, and although one of them is sorted, don't know how she can handle the other as well as she does. It was interesting to see the shifters come into the mix and try to work out what some of the predictions might lead to... I'm hoping this series doesn't take a Mercy Thompson bend.
