Anne | 336 comments A CD of the kind of music played in the US when Asimov was a young man.... endless loop. :)

Aloha | 919 comments Thanks! I'm listening to it as I'm writing a review. Foundation, another one I've been wanting to read. Can I squeeze in another book club commitment, can I? LOL.

Anne | 336 comments Always room for one more. :)

Aloha | 919 comments Welcome back, Anne. I gather you consider this SF. :o) I will have to join, then.

At least a book with something to say. :)

Timm Woods (kexizzoc) | 43 comments Book-appropriate music for the WIN

Skip | 517 comments With Asimov, I would think anything with a Theremin would be appropriate.

Warren | 1556 comments Agree. Theremin would be good for this book.

Jonathon Dez-la-lour (jd2607) | 173 comments Normally, I end up putting together playlists for each book that I read, normally comprising of film scores and "classical" music. I made a huge one for Hyperion that was made up entirely of 19th century music.

I'm over halfway through the book now and it still hasn't gripped me enough that I want to come up with a playlist or a selection of albums.

But, I would suggest Jerry Goldsmith's scores for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Alien. Also Bernard Herrmann's The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Anne | 336 comments Asimov himself loved Gilbert and Sullivan.

Nice choice, thanks.

Mikael Thinsz | 3 comments While I was reading Foundation I liked to get into the "Galactic Empire"-vibe, so I actually listened to a lot of the Mass Effect soundtrack:

Some of the more ambient tracks really sets the mood well in my opinion.
