Read ONE book from the below options.

Option A:
The fall months are September, October, and November. Read a book by an author that has a first or last name that starts with either S, O, or N. Middle names do not count. Required: Specify the author in your post

Examples:
1984 by George Orwell
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer

Option B:
The numbers that correspond to these fall months are 9, 10, and 11. Read a book originally published in '09, '10, or '11 of any century. Note: GoodReads has a 'datepub' field in its shelf settings that can help with this search. Required: Specify the date published in your post

Examples:
The Tempest - 1610
Sense and Sensibility - 1811
Cutting for Stone - 2009

Required: Specify the option that you chose when you post

Only one of the authors needs to qualify.

Claire -- this is a ONE book task. So you might want to pick one of these books for this task and use the other for another task...
