Theme Monitor Idea (Discuss and Complain Here)

I am considering starting a program to help monitor the theme selections when we make them. I'll be honest and say that I am getting much busier here soon and it will get worse before it gets better. I start student teaching this coming Friday. We return to theme selections in May and I want to get the people in place for it by April. I also want the two people that become monitors to be elected into "office". Their roles will be to go make sure the books nominated in their genre for the theme month match the theme and to create the poll for that theme. I would also like for them to pick the theme for each month, removing a poll to select it but hopefully keeping it interesting. As such I want everyone to have a say in who is the monitor for each genre's theme. The term of office will be 1 year and if someone does not live up to the role the mods and I can have them removed.

We have some time to talk about this idea as I might be crazy and stressed out and thinking it will work. If you have anything to add, wish to change or, heck, if you like the idea discuss it here.

I think thats a great idea Nick! That would prevent the mods from having to research everything themselves.

I'm not sure about removing the theme poll altogther, but maybe they could narrow the choices down to 5 or something and then have a vote.

Are you going to ask people to step up and campaign if they are interested, or should we start nominating those who we feel would be good? :)

I think I would like them to campaign for the position. I figure I'll set up a thread and give each person one post to introduce themselves and say why thy would be the best selection. One for Fantasy and one for scifi.

Sounds fine if you can find someone trustworthy who will do it for a year.
