Anyone else think this was the only good book in the series?

Wuuradam The love triangle really killed this series for me. in some books it works at times, but it was so unnecessary in this series, just took away focus from the good parts, as the plot. And brenda really really is a worthless character.. really disslike everything about her character

Paige Ya,I read the first book and loved it and then I started to read the second book and it just went on on about the flare.I was like just get to the point.I never finished it.I got to board.

My sentiments exactly!

Jason L. If you don't really enjoy the last two books, I highly recommend you to skip TKO. I think the last two didn't live up to expectations but wraps up the series neatly enough. And I totally HATED TKO. Except for the origin of the Flare (Which wasn't very clearly stated in TKO, either), it has practically NOTHING to do with the MR series. But there was a little sneak peak on Teresa, so hardcore fans might give it a go. For me it's just full of gore and action(that i can promise you) and the characters just stumble along with no clear ideas or even what to do next worth wasting the first 3/4 of the book explaining meaningless stuff. For those wanting a well-developed storyline with thoughtful motives of the characters, please skip this. The Maze Runner was SO much better. (Juz my POV, by the way)

Totally agree. Absolutely don't understand why (view spoiler)

Scorch Trials was pretty good. It had a little too much action, so I say either Maze Runner or Death Cure cause they didn't have too little or too much action, but the story was better in Death Cure.

AgCl Yep i liked the Maze Runner but after that it just got disappointing...I guess it was largely because i had entirely different expectations from what proceeded after MR. It all just felt like i was reading the wrong sequel, although, I did try to finish it hoping the story would pull itself back together in the end, but it just kept getting well...worse so that i didn't even get to finish Death Cure....which was really sad because i had high hopes from the start for this series.

Actually, I think the Kill Order is my favourite! It's done much better. I agree with the OP. The first book was good and had a lot of promise, but I found the 2nd one a boring repeat of the first (oh goody, a NEW trial) and the third one just didn't even make sense in the end. It was a lame cop-out of an ending. Seems like Dashner just got lazy.

I definitely enjoyed Kill Order though. The characters were much better developed and more interesting. It was a great read.

Harry Washbourne to be totally honest. I am half way through the death cure and enjoying it so much. Brenda is the better character out of her and teresa. so awesome series though better than anything i have ever read

Emma I LOVED this book and couldn't wait to read the second one!

I wasn't disappointed. I finished it in a few days and was straight on to the Death Cure. I don't get what you people are talking about - I loved ALL the books, but TMR was by far the best in the series.

Allison I actually liked the Death Cure the best. I am one of those people with the very rare opinion.

Ikr? I loved them all about equally, and I don't see why everyone hates The Death Cure, it was awesome!

SuperNova Is it just me that LOVES the love triangle? I normally think they're lame but this one is special. I mean in the end when (SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT)

Teresa dies. I mean I was so sure he was going to end up with Teresa and Brenda was just a side character. I think it's very special how Thomas lost and got his trust for Teresa back and how it ended up with Brenda. To me this is very clever because it was very unexpected.

Emma That's a side to it I never looked at :/

Harry Washbourne book 2 and 3 are the best

Paul Harder agreed 100%. bait and switch into yet another sh--tty zombie story.

Horton Law I loved this book and the movies are pretty good too.
