Andy | 27 comments Hello all, and thanks for reading.

I'm a collector as much as a reader, so I want all my books within a set to match. I'm currently trying to complete a set of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple books as shown here. I'm not getting much help from booksellers, and I already have some duplicates of editions that I don't want.

I'm currently missing:
The Murder at the Vicarage
The Thirteen Problems
The Moving Finger
Miss Marple's Final Cases

Hopefully, if you have or see one of these books, we can work out a price to please both of us.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
Andy

Jill H. (bucs1960) Andy.....I hate to state the obvious, but have you tried Ebay? I found some excellent books there that I could not find elsewhere.

Amazon, Abebooks, Alibris, Biblio, paperbackswap... yup.
eBay? uh... no. (blush) (at least not that I remember... for sure...)

Definitely worth a shot. Thanks!

Jill H. (bucs1960) I hope you find what you need to complete your collection. Ebay sometimes surprises me with the variety of hard to find books that pop up there. Good luck.

Esther (eshchory) | 47 comments Better World Books is also a good place to look.

Thanks for your suggestion, Jill! :-)
I found two of them at ebay.co.uk... well MAYbe three, but shipping from Australia is kinda ridiculous. One was Buy-It-Now, and the other closes on the 12th... Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for your input ladies, but...
Better World Books is also an Amazon partner, so I got the same info there as going to their own site.

From what I saw at bookfinder... Let me let THEM tell it: "BookFinder.com is an independent subsidiary of AbeBooks, which is based in Victoria, Canada." Basically it's a meta search engine that just searches all the places I'd already searched and a couple smaller ones that I'd never heard of. I found a couple possibilities, but there was no provision to contact a seller for details about the book. Since we're talking about alternate editions here, that's a must. (shrugs)

Thanks to Jill's suggestion, I'm down to two books. One was exactly what I wanted, and the other is close enough to satisfy me. (instead of the cover being a matte finish with "marple" embossed in the upper right hand corner, it's a gloss finish. I might be crazy, but I'm not THAT crazy!) ;-)

Jill H. (bucs1960) Will keep my eyes peeled, Andy. Glad you found a few of them......the others will show up eventually.

Andy | 27 comments yeah, and then I can start on the other ones... So far, I have 9 of 47 Nero Wolfe books, and 2 of someplace around 80 Agatha Christie books. Yeah, I DO have a weakness for series... or serieses... or seriei... or is that a sickness?

On the plus side, I'm pretty sure that the New Edition series covered most of the Agatha Christie. Gonna be a lot of alternate editions, though. :-|

Jill H. (bucs1960) I have all the Nero Wolfe books and the videos from the 2 seasons on A&E television. Wolfe is my favorite American detective and Maury Chaykin, the late Canadian actor, was so perfect for the part!!!

Laura Robertson (nostreborcl) Hmm, maybe try www.thebookpeople.co.uk?

Andy | 27 comments Laura wrote: "Hmm, maybe try www.thebookpeople.co.uk?"

Thanks for the suggestion, Laura. All I found there were the "newer" 2007 editions. The funny thing is that they were the first two I got, and back then, they were the ones I was trying to get. (shrugs)

Laura Robertson (nostreborcl) Oh ok, sorry! Hope you find what you're looking for soon

Katherine | 43 comments Try kennys.ie. the used to have one of the best bookshops in Ireland but closed it to concentrate on their online business. They can get pretty much anything. Katherine
