I had a shock recently when I discovered that a hifi magazine I buy has a blacklist of manufacturers whose products will never get review /editorial space because they don't advertise or have upset the publisher. I looked closely then and noticed a mediocre small hifi company was getting massive editorial coverage. Shock. Horror. It also bought advertising space.
Looking back at my post I'm not sure what it has got to do with anything but I feel better getting it off my chest ;)

If you can throw money at advertising, you are always going to be better off than those who cannot afford it
