I've been asked about whether a notice can be posted in the club advertising for online fantasy/sci-fi publications that our members have created. I also thought we could use a place to post notices about any upcoming contests or sweepstakes suitable for authors & readers.

So, that being said, if you know of anything like that where it could benefit our members, please keep it to this post. A friendly word of advice. Make sure you're an active member of the club before posting in here. Messages that have been copied & pasted into multiple groups by brand new members will more than likely be deleted.

Hello:

The first issue of Quantum Realities is now available. It is a free e-zine of science fiction. You can view it online at the website and there is downloadable in .pdf format as well.

We are also actively looking for submissions. We do happily accept submissions from unpublished and indie authors. Currently, we have a need for nonfiction submissions such as non-fiction articles and essays as well as book reviews (we are hoping to publish one or two reviews of traditionally published novels that have not been reviewed to death and one or two reviews of indie published novels.

We do pay a modest fee for accepted submissions but not "professional" level fees. See the submission guidelines for details

E-Magazine Overview


Quantum Realities is a new e-magazine that focuses on publication of material related to speculative science fiction with an emphasis on controversial social science fiction. It welcomes submissions of short stories, poems, essays, articles, and artwork related to speculative science fiction.


Genres


Quantum Realities focuses on publishing speculative fiction and art with an emphasis on social science fiction. We also consider other sub-genres of science fiction including hard science fiction, cyber punk, steam punk, military science fiction, space opera, and apocalyptic science fiction.


Our Focus


Quantum Realities is particularly interested in fiction that addresses important social issues such as science, technology, military, ecology, medicine, genetics, economics, social structures, and politics.



We are flexible regarding manuscript length. We prefer to see short stories that range from 500 to 10,000 words in length. We may consider longer pieces, but may serialize. We like to see articles, essays and book reviews between 250 and 2500 words. We review poems on a case-by-case basis.


There are some topics and sub-genres we are not interested in reviewing. We are not interested in pure fantasy pieces though we are interested in fusions of science fiction and fantasy. We are not interested in the paranormal or vampire related material. Science fiction romances or erotica is not something we are interested in publishing. Obviously, we are not interested in stories that have become trite or cliché. On the other hand, if an author truly has put a new twist on an old plot, we welcome it for submission.



Fees Paid & Publishing Rights

Quantum Realities is a free online e-magazine designed to help the self-publishing author get exposure and promote his or her work. We will pay a fee of $25 dollars for manuscripts of 2500 words or greater if we are granted Exclusive Worldwide First Publishing Rights for three months with non-exclusive rights to archive the work in perpetuity for the users and visitors of our site.


Manuscripts of less than 2500 words are paid a fee of $.01 per word with a $5.00 minimum payment. Art is paid at $25 per illustration. Payments are made through PayPal. We may consider publishing a work without an exclusivity period upon an author’s request, but there will be no fee paid.


We will publish your biography at the end your published material where you can promote your books, other articles, etc. We will also make links in your biography to your website, blog, Facebook page, etc. The biography and links are subject to our editorial discretion.

Please submit manuscripts via email sent to contact@jaxaspublishing.com. The subject-line should state: Quantum Realities Manuscript Submission – Your Name. The manuscript may be attached as a MS Word or Rich Text File.



Art


Art should be submitted by email to contact@jaxaspublishing.com. The subject-line should state: Quantum Realities Art Submission – Your Name. The art may be attached as a .jpg file.



Simultaneous Submissions Permitted


We do not have a problem with simultaneous submissions and encourage authors to simultaneously submit. We do ask, as a courtesy, that you advise us if you have signed a contract with another publisher before you hear back from us. You may send the notice to contact@jaxaspublishing.com.
