So the aliens have these guns that can give you permanent brain damage. We, the humans, have found that dog whistles drive them crazy and may be usefull if we want a quick get away. Nobody has found anything to kill yet, though I'm thinking phone chargers might interfear with their brain waves. Any suggestions?

The thing about chargers is interesting. A moving charge or current produces a magnetic field, and if the aliens are similar to bee's and sharks in how they communicate, than magnetic fields will effect their communication. For instance many bee's are "losing" their colonies because of cell phones, and small sharks are effected by magnets. So theoretically magnets or chargers can effect the aliens in a minor way, but with a large enough magnetic field one could completely disable an alien's communication with the others, rendering them confused.

But then surely the earths inherent magnetic field would have wiped out their communications already?

True, but then again species here have been able to deal with the magnetic field, though you're right. Unless it's somethings wavelength that interferes and not it's magnetic field in which case then I could see cell phone stuffs working.

What about a voltage buzz? It's a high pitched buzz... Or a blaring siren?
