I'm already in chapter 15!...and I like it!:))

I recently bought a book called ''The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrún'' which is a mixture of poetry and prose but I'm saving it for winter time cause it's about Northern antiquity and I would prefer it if it was coordinated with the temperature around me!!! (accompanied of course with a cup of hot CHOCOLATE)
:D hehehe... that's my favorite combination for reading rather comfy novel..
+sometimes coffee...
I hv been planning to buy the whole series of LOTR, n so i am thinking what version to buy.. i mean should i go for rather expensive one's like hardback which can become collectibles or normal paperbacks..
can someone help me out? :)

I know what you mean....Some years ago I would have said: go with the hard cover!!!Because I used to collect books, cds and dvds too!!I'm talking about a HUGE lover!!But then I started growing up and thought: what's the use of buying expensive stuff when with much cheaper ones you can do what you like?? And as far as books, mine are now sitting on selves getting dust(I'm not saying you shouldn't buy books-just not very expensive ones)and as I have recently found out(from a book :P) any kind of paper they currently use lasts only 60 years at most!!So they will NOT even be legacy for someone!
In a few words I would now say: buy the cheaper series...but then again, I've been there, done that...I hope I helped
:D :') touched.. Thanks anastasia.. :)
Even i have a huge(small) collection of various books from hardcopies to audiobooks.. n although i love to have hardcovers or higher versions of paperbacks. it's always true that they age..
we readers have so much attachment to their books :') it's really hard to break away from them.
I mean even if it's a 2 years old trade-paperback you will handle it will care n will give mouthful to someone if he mistreats it..
because these are not just pages.. they are memories.

Now, I only lend it to people who I know they will take care of them...I can't even consider someone trashing my books...It is not about ownership and money, it's about love and fond memories as you said!
