Dean, Jess or Logan?
I haven't read any of the posts on this thread yet because I just watched the season finale of season 1 yesterday. Right now I'm really excited that Dean came to Rory's school and she told him she loved him! I thought she might let down her guard and go to the concert with Tristan, so I'm really glad she's with Dean. While I can guess from the heading of this thread there will be more boyfriends to come, I'm happy for now. Hopefully the first disc from season 2 will be here tomorrow from netflix!

last ep of season one (Love, Daisies, and Troubadours) is definitely one of my favorites if only for those two gloriously sweet scenes. If I could freeze time for our girls at any one point, this would definitely be it.
Jess. He published a book so he finally got his life together and who dislikes an author.
I forget which season was the last I watched...I think my Blockbuster didn't have the DVDs after season five, maybe? I need to catch up. But Jess! Jess! Jess! Not only does he READ, but I don't think there's a such thing as a guy worth his salt who's not the type you're gonna hafta' bail out of jail at least once in your life. Dean was sweet but too insecure about social class (or something...but I think I was probably like that at that age). And Logan. Ick. This could all be biased because I think I've been married to/dated Logan (in many incarnations), none of them good. Now I'm a little sad that my Jess is thinking of selling his Social Distortion/The Misfits leather jacket on eBay. Maybe we should stay wild for good?

P.S. Just realized my boyfriend (way more Jess than the others) and I are going to have work in a book together, so he's an author now, too :-)
I would definetely say Jess, they were both so intellegent, both into reading, they complimented eachother. Jess was the greatest,too bad he didn't stay with the show.

That said, Jess for sure. He's super sexy, he's smart, and he loves Rory. However, I really don't see the bad in Logan that others do. I really like him. Actually, I haven't seen any of the final season yet, and I've been holding out hope that Rory ends up with Jess in the end...although I don't think that's going to happen (slash, already happened). But, if it can't be Jess, I'm happy she got Logan. Incidentally, don't ruin it for me.

I loved Jess because he was the intellectual like her. He challenged her. I never really trusted Logan, there was always something about him. I couldn't stand Dean, he was way too needy and cheating on your wife is inexcusable.
I didn't like Jess because trusting him to be there for her was not an option. He was emotionally immature. Dean was great in the beginning but in the end he became needy like Kristen says not to mention he became insecure.I think Logan is the best for on the money. He really could be trusted in the end, he was there for Rory, he was intellegent and he brought Rory excitement though he definitely wasn't good as a moral compass for her, but still only she can control her actions and reactions.
Hi Everyone I'm a newbie this is my first post!I would have to agree with a lot of people if we MUST pick someone Rory has already been with, that it would be grown up Jess. However, I think Rory can do better than everyone she's been with.
Dean was super cute while they were in highschool, but not really right for her in the end.
Logan doesn't even count. Total douche spoiled daddy's boy. He cheated on her and was just generally gross.
Highschool Jess was too selfish and just kind of a pain. Once he had his book published and came back he seemed to be a great guy but...there's so many fish in the sea why go back:)
I agree! Logan is too full of himself and too dramatic for me. Jess is Rory's other half-they talk books and have great chemistry together!
My first instinct was to write that she shouldn't end up with any of them! I like to imagine that Rory is going to find THE GUY. But maybe that's a cop-out. If I have to choose from the three I have to choose Jess. He had a dash of bad-boy attitude but had the intellectual chops to match wits with Rory. By the by, I saw Milo V. on a YouTube video - "How to Become an Internet Celebrity" - Episode 3.
I agree with you Maria...I'm rooting for "new version" Jess.
Ok, I'm mid-Season 2. Definitely getting the feel that Dean is not the guy for her. They totally have no passion when they kiss. As cute as Dean is, I'd rather see Rory with Tristan. Does Tristan ever come back from military school?Jess seems like a good match, especially if he matures like I hear he does later.
Still haven't met Logan.
Robbie, the actor who plays Tristan got another show. But if you like Tristan, you'll like Logan.

I would definitely have to say Jess... but not the Jess from high school. The Jess who cleaned up his act and came back with his own published book and a much less angry demeanor. As for spin offs... GG was definitely the best place for the guys to start. Don't forget Adam Brody who played Lane's boyfriend before he became Seth on The OC.
I have to say Jess. I'm a Literati (Rory/Jess) fan for life.I never liked Logan at all, and though Dean was sweet in the beginning and a good first boyfriend, he got too whiny and possessive. (I don't want to start any fights or anything; that is just my opinion. :) I understand that everyone is entitled to their own.)
While Jess has his faults, he grew up much more than either of the other two. Plus, it helps that Milo Ventimiglia is not exactly hard to look at... ;)
Sharon--I've seen a lot of comments like that about Dean, so I don't think you need to worry about fights. Plus, fighting is not in the nature of the members of this group.I totally had a crush on Dean at first (and begged the members not to tell me he turned out to be annoying or whatever), but now (middle to end of season two) it's becoming clear that he's not right for her. Not her intellectual equal, as Jess has pointed out to Rory. I think the jealousy/possessiveness is a somewhat normal reaction to him seeing someone come on to his girlfriend and seeing her attraction to someone else--especially if he's sensing, perhaps before Rory does--that she is less enamored with him than she used to be.

Sharon, that's what I love about this group, the members are very open-minded and respect each other's opinions.
Robbie, I had a crush on Dean as well (he's also not exactly hard to look at) and I do agree that his jealousy is normal for a guy who realized that his girlfriend develops an attraction to another guy (doesn't that suck like hell or what?). I've said before that this is my primary issue with the whole Rory/Jess thing -- had she not been attached to someone else in the first place I probably wouldn't have disliked the relationship so much. But she was Dean's girl to begin with so it's basically cheating.

I think this has been discussed before in this thread: the irony of the situation is that Dean ended up cheating on his wife with Rory (though I have yet to watch this part), which is even worse. I probably wouldn't like Dean so much when I watch it.
That is so great! I've just been on boards and such where people jump down your throat the second you disagree with them on one little thing. I'm so glad this group isn't like that. :)Just to give a little background to my opinion: I never saw the sweet Dean, at first. I watched out of order, starting in late season 2, I watched a while, stopped, and came back in mid season 4. So I got to see the annoyingly possessive (Not that he didn't have a reason for his behavior, but that was still my impression) Dean and **SPOILER** the Dean that cheated on his wife. So my opinion of him was pretty much formed before I really saw his good side.
Anyway. I kind of rambled a bit there...sorry about that! :)
Also, Allison and Dini -- I love Adam Brody! And he and Lane were so adorable together.

Oh Dini, while I loved Dave (Adam Brody) and his willingness to eat the mega huge helping of Mrs. Kim's cooking (egg sandwiches anyone?), there was only one guy for Lane! Zach! Zach! and then Zach!What the dude's name in marching band where she stroked his hair? He deserves an honorable mention. heh
It's funny to see Adam Brody tried to read the whole Bible in just one night to impress Mrs. Kim :)
I'm all for Jess. He's just got the smart bad boy image that I'm totally attracted to.I don't like Dean at all now, only in the first season, but I don't like him because I don't think he is smart enough for Rory.
I do like Logan though at first I didn't, but by the end of all the seasons I think he was my favorite guy for Rory on the show.
I liked Marty. But Marty wouldn't have challenged Rory enough socially, intellectually, emotionally. Logan bothered me. I don't know why. I didn't like the look in his eye. I just never felt satisfied with their match--except for that bit of adventure he brought in to her experience.
If I had to choose someone, it would have to be Jess. He was moody, but a thinker. Of course, he was a bit dangerous when he wasn't thinking.
Yet, he loved books. That's awesome in my opinion.
I loved Dave for his determination to win over Mrs. Kim just for a chance to date Lane. Playing Christian Band music for her party, reading the Bible in one day, eating lots and lots of Mrs. Kim food--he was adorable!
One observation about Dean, he was really nice looking at the beginning, but his hair seemed to get oily and stringy as the seasons progressed. He was a good first boyfriend for Rory to ease her into relationships.

Aww, I forgot all about Dave! He was my favorite for Lane, and I actually liked Adam Brody better as Dave than in any of his other roles I've seen.
I think I'm a Logan girl. Aside from the fact Matt Czuchry is delightfully yummy... I think Logan and Rory worked well together. He got her to loosen up and have some fun, and she helped him get his life figured out and grow up. Dean and Jess have their good points too, but Logan is my favorite.
Lane: Dave. Her hubby was alright and funny but her and Dave were soooooo cute!Rory: Jess, for sure. He challenged her in everyway. I much preferred Marty, before they wrote him as super creepy.

this is a hard one guys!! I loved Dean at first but I totally hated the part when he married that girl... Jess was a bad boy alright, but he grew up and turn out the most incredible guy ever, I think I'm a Jess girl all the way. Logan was ok, but it was too much of a egomaniac and wealthy guy so I did'nt like him that much, besides you could see that down the road he was going to cheat on her everytime they had a fight!!
Rory made the right choice with the whole Logan thing. He was good for her, but she still would have been settling. Dean and Rory were good for high school, but not for the real world. He would have held her back. I wish she would have had feelings for the New Jess! He is soooo attractive and I think they could have really had something together.
What about some sort of Dr. Frankenstein thing? Take the best of each & end up with 1 absolutely fabulous guy!!!
Rebecca, I agree with your assessment on Rory and Logan at that point -- and the comment on why he was being the way he was then. Why, indeed decide to be that way at that particular moment?
