Sammy Young (darcyalcottpotter) I can't even watch the episodes with Logan in them they're just so cringey and awful

I agree with you completely. I never liked Logan, he was just a really bad choice. Sometimes I tried to like him, but then he'd do something else to make me not want to.

Jess will always be my favorite, especially after he gets his act together. I like Dean, when Rory first starts dating him, after they get back together when she tells him she loves him. But I HATED Dean and Rory once Dean was married to Lindsey. I was so angry she would get involved with a married man.

Angela N | 1 comments I didn't like young Jess, but I think adult Jess was the best for her. I liked that he was the one to snap her out of what she was going through, after the theft of the yacht, and she looked more comfortable with him, than any of them (I guess that's because they were dating in real life).

Logan was good to her, for the most part. There were things that I loved about Dean, but he gets more annoying, with every re-watch of his episodes, where he'd be angry with her, and too needy.

ah, yes - well said! I agree with each of those evals.

message 464: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Silver (ssilver1215) | 17 comments I do think Logan challenged Rory, Sammy, but we're all entitled to our own opinions. He helped her develop into a more daring, confident woman who could cook, would go to a gym, etc. When he was a jerk, he was a real jerk, and like I said, I am glad she didn't stay with him, but I think he helped her get out of the Stars Hallow bubble, appreciate her grandparents' heritage more... Sorry you hated him so much you can't even watch those episodes. There are other great story lines going on, even if you don't like him (like the hay maze, Lane getting preggo, etc.). Anyway it's just a show and just my take on it.

message 465: by Sammy (last edited Nov 08, 2014 02:47AM) (new)

Sammy Young (darcyalcottpotter) That to me just sounds like he turned her into the perfect housewife, though I suppose that's what she should be given her grandparents heritage and Logan's too for that matter. And I'm almost certain that he caused a massive rift between Rory and her Grandparents when she moved out of their home. And I also felt like he never appreciated her "Stars Hollow Bubble" - her relationship with her mother, her own heritage, the humble small town-esque quirks and also seemed to hammer them out her. And besides all of those examples were taken from one episode.
Not trying to argue just trying to appreciate and fully understand a different perspective whilst sharing mine :)

Sara (jennifersarajansky) | 4 comments LOGAN YES, I was really, really sad when she turned down Logan's marriage proposal! UGH. :(

And Dean had no biz marrying when he still loved Rory, no wonder that didn't work out for him! So dumb.

message 467: by Alexis (new)

Alexis Bolivar | 1 comments Beginning with Dean-- I completely agree with all of the prior comments. Dean was simply a high school relationship, that should've stayed in high school at that. Dean truly helped Rory's character development, but then began to hold her back. I'm sure Dean ended up following Rory's advice, like always, and went back to college. And, there he found his future permit wife. I bet Rory and him reunited in the future, as friends. As for Logan and Jess, I still can't decide which one I prefer. Jess Mariano-- even his name is enlightening. Jess possesses common interests as Rory, and who could forgot that episode where he spoke about her changing in a negative way. The relationship they had seemed so pure. But, Jess would always run away. For that reason, I'm not sure he's the right one for Rory. I know what you're thinking, but adult Jess is so mature and prepared for a relationship. And, that leads me to my next point: When Jess was ready Rory was not. A huge theme we see in this series is timing. An example is obviously Lorleali and Chris; whether it was the lack of stability or advancement of stability, it just never worked. The resemblance of time with Jess and Rory's relationship is striking, there has been countless moments where one of them was not ready. It'll be nice to think they may have crossed paths again, and I can envision a future relationship. But, with that being said I can also envision another dilemma tearing them apart. Logan, the first man that Rory dated. Also, the first man that had a Gilmore girl fall for rapidly, and declared her feelings for him first. A lot of Rory's character goes out to Logan, for helping her explore the real world while also challenging her wild side. Logan was also a bit questionable. Ultimately, I believe I chose Logan, but then again Rory is still only 22. It would've satisfied my girly girl alter ego to have a cookie cutter perfect ending by having Rory accept Logans marriage proposal. But, Rory clearly has time to find someone who merges all great traits of Dean, Jess, and Logan into one man. Wish the ending would've gave us a direct answer to our confused hearts on who Rory chooses to be with. However, we all know whoever Rory ends up with, they must be a fantastic person to score a Gilmore girl.

Vanessa Kings | 1 comments Dean!

message 469: by Shay (new)

Shay (shaylyn318) | 2 comments I recently finished watching on Netflix. At first I thought Dean was the best. I hated Jess. He was such a ass to everyone except Rory while he was trying to get her. Once he had her he stopped treating her right. Then up and takes off without telling her anything. I didn't like Logan at first. It wasn't until he got his second chance with Rory that I grew to like him the best. I was sad that Rory didn't end up with Logan at the end but I know she made the right decision for her. The only good thing I will say about Jess is that he did come in at the right time to give Rory her wake up call after she left school.

message 470: by Caryn (new)

Caryn (cmhall) | 13 comments Dean was too easily swayed and too old fashioned. He would have eventually penned Rory in, or made her feel bad about her ambitions and goals. Dean was an old man at age 16. Logan didn't want a wife. He needed Rory to keep him grounded in reality, he needed her strength. He would have drained her too. He would have been 16 when he was 66. And he would have cheated. Jess would be the ideal. He would let her be herself. He would be himself. Jess would grow!

message 471: by Mégane (new)

Mégane (megmarie-euj) | 1 comments Jess.

message 472: by K. (new)

K. (goodreadscomkatie_s) | 6 comments Rory turns down even Logan so why does it matter? She has horrible tastes.

message 473: by K. (new)

K. (goodreadscomkatie_s) | 6 comments Jess thinks intelligence is the only thing that matters. Dean and Rory had nothing to talk about. Maybe Logan because he likes adventure but he's too much of a pretty boy and it gives me the creeps. She has horrible taste and it shouldn't have cut off on Season 7.

✨ABookGirl✨memoirs are my jam✨ (abookgirl1) | 42 comments I started watching GG again after taking a break and quickly remembered why I stopped. Emily Gilmore is infuriatingly obnoxious! She is so self-righteous and snotty I can't stand it! Ugh!

I hated it when Rory quit Yale and moved in with her grandparents. So...I guess you can say that I am not a fan of Logan. And what is with the whole "Ace" moniker? It seems so forced and emotionless.

That being said, I am Team Jess!

message 475: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (natilia) | 6 comments I'm absoluty Team Dean! I love Dean, he's so sweet and in my opinion he really knows Rory more than Jess and Logan. He practically grew up with Rory and Dean represents the first emotions of love and discovery, but also mature love, because the chemistry between them was never even though their separate ways, not to mention that Jared Padalecki is totally adorable. So I stay with Dean despite everything that happened subsequently! :)

message 476: by Vale (new)

Vale | 8 comments The grown up Jess was perfect for Rory: they had a lot in common.. their love for reading and for the music! And I love his sarcasm..

Dean at the beginning was the perfect boyfriend, but with him Rory was like a teacher.
Logan was ok, but such a spoiled brat and a cheater.

So I'm definitely team Jess (even if I didn't like how he ran away without saying goodbye to Rory).

message 477: by Iuri (new)

Iuri (iuriau) | 1 comments I know Jess was the one true love, and that Logan was a nice fit for Rory, but I could never get over Dean. I'm all for the high school loves, sorry (not sorry).

So I'm a lonely Team Dean.

message 478: by Margaret (new)

Margaret M (megthewitch) Jess, always Jess.

message 479: by Iris (new)

message 480: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (daniellecorbin_78) Jess without a doubt.

message 481: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat (karolina_kat) I was always torn between Dean and Jess. But I knew that it never should have been Logan. I wonder if Rory ends up with any of them.

message 482: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 1 comments None of them, bleh. I mean they were ok for high school/college, but Rory should absolutely not end up with any of them ever. I mean are YOU with your high school/uber rich college boyfriends? Nope, me neither.

message 483: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat (karolina_kat) @Andrea

That was my main issue with Jess, he was a total rebel highschool boyfriend type.

Anyway, we don't know really who these guys grew up to be. That's why I'm excited to see them in the reunion series and see how Rory reacts to them.

message 484: by Katarina (new)

Katarina (katarinabf) | 13 comments So... it's gonna be Jess afterall :-)
He (Milo V.) is the only one in all of the new 4 episodes coming up on Netflix!

message 485: by Katarina (new)

Katarina (katarinabf) | 13 comments No, I got it wrong, Logan is in all 4 episodes, Jess in 3 and Dean in only one, so...

message 486: by meltem (new)

meltem | 6 comments Dean<3 He was the most lovely boy in the Gilmore Girls. Also i met Jared Padalecki with that movie and then i started Supernatural because of Dean:)

Where did you read the update on who is in what season? I am dying for more details on the filming.

message 488: by Kim (new)

Kim Williamson I'm a hard core Rogan shipper. While I like Jess, he was always so disconnected. Rory lived a very sheltered life in Stars Hollow. Jess was so different and her first bad boy. I think in the end, their personalities and backgrounds were just too far apart to bridge that gap. His being closed off to Rory's openness. His cynicism to her optimism. Her strong familial bonds, his abandonment issues. The list goes on.
So, we bring in bad boy number two. Logan. While they differ in many areas, they have enough in common to make it work. They are both open and optimistic, had a love for adventure, and had strong family ties. They got each other on so many levels and evolved into a couple that brought out the best in each other.
Dean doesn't even factor in, he had more chemistry with her mom than Rory.

message 489: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (ramblingbooks) | 57 comments After Jess cleaned himself up, and got his act together, I thought he was perfect for Rory. He was working in that small publishing house, and wrote his short novel. I felt like at that point, he finally had his life somewhat figured out, he wasn't a troubled teen anymore and could be in a real relationship with Rory. Unfortunately, she was with already with Logan...

message 490: by Daniela (new)

Daniela Salinas | 1 comments I'm so happy to read that most of you share my opinion, I was always rooting for Jess. I mean sure Dean was a great first boyfriend and he set a great example for the future guys but it got boring and dull with him pretty quickly. I loved bad boy Jess ecen though I didn't like how he treated her but I knew it was something they had to go through and I was very, very sure they would both grow and be the best for each other. I feel this relationship was always full of everlasting passion and longing. Logan is a great guy but I do feel that being upper class and spoiled is not what Rory needs and doesn't fit her quite as erll.

message 491: by Erin (new)

Erin | 2 comments I loved jess and logan. But Jess and rory are more compatible for each other and really she was the only one who really understood him. But I really liked tristan!! That would be so funny if he came back in the new season!

message 492: by Juana (new)

Juana | 1 comments Well I'm at season 6 and I always thought that I'm team Logan but then Jess came to visit Rory after this long time. I realized how good Jess would be for Rory! Definitely team Jess but I like Logan. Maybe as a friend?

Library Nymph (librarynymph) | 2 comments I'd have to go with grown-up Jess, simply because he actually read books. : )

Besides that, something about Logan always creeped me and Dean was just immature.

message 496: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Kear (sweetvic14) | 3 comments Jess! I hate Logan!

message 497: by Leah-Kate (new)

Leah-Kate Johnson (blueberry_01) | 2 comments Jess, Jess, a million times Jess!

message 498: by Sofi (new)

Sofi Collodel (sophiie91) | 3 comments Jess, no doubt in mi mind hahaha

message 499: by Hannah (last edited Oct 22, 2017 05:38PM) (new)

Hannah Kelly (herfictionalfelicities) Obviously Jess! They were the most compatible. And I agree there is something very, controlling about Logan that is very off putting. I just hate how around him Rory becomes so submissive and not like herself. I think she allows herself to be way too dazzled by Logan.

message 500: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea | 1 comments I might be unpopular with this, but I have to say Dean! He was such a good guy and Rory is such a good girl. Also, I feel like their relationship would have been better if Rory had gotten more involved in Dean's life (thinking of Season 3 where Rory goes to hockey game and actually has a good time, despite finding out Dean and Lindsay were dating).
Jess was a brat who was going through too many things. Even grown up Jess is a brat, in my opinion. And I detest Logan. He's so spoiled.
