Importers bring it in in place of apostrophes or other punctuation. While the imports are great they aren't infallible.
The quotation marks were wrong, maybe that's what was causing the problem. I can't tell for sure. I copied the description to a notepad, fixed the quotations and the paste it as plain text on the field.
