My mom just informed me yesterday that I'll be able to audition! She wasn't one hundred percent sure, as I'm doing production, and that's every other Sunday. All Nutcracker practices are on Saturdays or Sundays, so it could conflict, depending on the time. So, she's going to let me try out, and then we'll see if the part I get-if I get a part-conflicts with my regular dance schedule. HOPING IT WON'T! XD
The parts I'm trying out for this year are:
--Puppets {my friend and I REALLY want to be puppets together!}
--Raggedy Ann Dolls {pointe part}
--Clara
--Clara's Friends
I'm contemplating trying out for flowers and ballerina doll. I'm just not certain yet, because they're pointe pats, and I've only had two years of pointe. But you never know! We're thinking of asking two older girls at my studio that have been some of these parts to teach me a bit of the dance and see if I can handle it. :]
So, that was SUPER long, but I LOVEEE the Nutcracker! Try outs are-like-next week! XD Wish me luck! :]
Our school did a performance of the Nutcracker one year for the production dance in the recital. I wasn't in it though.
I've seen the local Nutcracker every year since I was like two. :D

Ginny- Wow! Awesome!
I grew up with the Nutcracker. Ever since I was a baby, I've been attending the one I now dance in. :] My cousin was in it when she was younger, and then she had too much going on, and I auditioned her last year of the Nutcracker, and have been in it ever since! I have most of the music memorized, and lots of the parts. XD

This was alright, I suppose. I forgot to do a glissade, and felt really stupid. XD
--Clara's Big Friend
I felt AMAZING about this part! I felt that the judges really were looking at me while I danced {and my number}, so that's always a good thing! ;]
--Puppets
This one went fine, for the most part. We did three things. First, we did something across the floor that was really easy, and then we did two combinations, and the first was fine, the second . . . not so much. XD
--Rag Dolls
This one went GREAT! I feel really good about this part, and-again-felt like the judges saw me. :]
--Flowers
This one was difficult, to say the least. I doubt I'll get this part, because it was really quite hard, and I could barely see the girl when she demonstrated it. But then we did tour jetes, which I adore, so I felt good about that part. :3
Well, the worst part? I GOT A HUGEEE BLISTER ON MY TOE. :P Yes, while I was doing my POINTE try-outs. Of course. -.-
But anywho, I feel really well about today, and hope I get a part! :] My letter's coming in TEN DAYS! Oooooh, so excited. <3

AHHHH I'M SO EXCITED! ;D It's my sixth year of the Nutcracker, third year en pointe, and I have my first pointe part! I AM SO UTTERLY HAPPY RIGHT NOW!
