I really did enjoy the book I thought that the book was very similar to the movie but the book had a twist to it which i really liked because i dont like books that are exactly like the movie.

I have to admit that I cannot remember much about the book as it has been a while since I read this one but watched the movie fairly recently and still love it so I can't wait to dig into the book and pick up on any differences.... :-)

I apologize for being a random high school students and commenting on this, but it is one of my assignments. I really enjoy the book because there is so much more that happens in it that i wish they would have put in the movie. you can really feel the love alli and Noah have. Being a high schooler this book opens your eyes to a whole new love story that could be real unlike most romance novels in this era. Nicholas Sparks always has a way to show true love through out his novels. I have read A walk to remember, the notebook, and The Last Song and absolutely love everyone of the books and their movies. Once again i apologize for randomly posting on this.
I really need to read some of his books, and this is one of them. I just saw the lucky one yesterday, so hopefully I’ll get around to reading more of his books through this group :) thanks for the invitation, can't wait to read and discuss his books with everyone :)

Starting the book today. I loved the movie! It was so touching and heartbreaking!I admit there were tears shed. :0)
Yey! I've done! Loved this book...
I thought about re-reading these books probably around the middle of last year and was so excited to get started, especially knowing that this book was the top of the list. Although The Wedding is my absolute favourite, The Notebook definitely comes second.
I just adore the characters of Noah and Allie in every way that is told in the story. I can't talk much about this part because it would spoil the story, which I will not do, but all I will say is that I loved these characters and the love they show throughout the entire novel.
I have yet to re-watch the movie but from memory there are some differences between the two and a major difference at the end of the story. For example, in the movie there is more background about Allie's mother and why she is so adamant that Allie should not be with Noah when in the book its just glanced over (unless I missed something there).
What I loved most about this story is the theme of love and romance standing still through time, never lost. From the beginning of the story, where you see Noah and Allie meet you instantly get a 'feeling' that there is something special between them.
Such a beautiful story and I can't wait to re-read it again and again....

When I first read The Notebook, I loathed it. I had wanted to reread it because I think I had judged it too harshly. I was right. I had upped it to three stars instead just one. Even though I did enjoy it this time around, I still love the movie ten times better.
going to start reading this book today. was a bit late cause i had to finish off another book i was reading, but now im really excited to start this reading challenge :)

I finished it really quickly once I started it. As I said in my review, it suited my mood at the moment, I was looking for something really simple to read, with no complicated storylines and a great romance. Really enjoyed it and am now planning to watch the movie.

I just finished The Notebookand i loved it so much!I already loved it when i read it about 10 years ago in Dutch, but reading it now in its original language i love it even more!
The Notebook is a classic love story that really warms the heart and it was also a bit sad.
I did see the movie a few years ago but i ordered it so i can watch it again!
I look forward to read the rest of Nicholas Sparks books and discuss them with you!

I had read The Notebook before, but I felt the same way about it that I felt when I read it the first time. For me, it doesn't even compare to how good the movie is. Its still such a beautiful story, but I can't help but think I would think the book is better if I hadn't seen the movie.
Glad I wasn't the only one. (: I'm kind of hit and miss with Sparks sometimes. A Walk to Remember has been my favorite so far!
I just started reading this last night! I know right? I was on the waiting list at the library and just received it. I am pretty sure I can finish it in a day or so! Can't wait to discuss!!
Thalia wrote: "Wow, I feel like the only one who really didn't like it!"You are not the only one! I didn't like it either. Hopefully his other books will be better! :)
I usually do not enjoy a book if I happen to watch the film first, but The Notebook was different. I thought it was really good. However I did not give the 5 stars, I don't know why, I think it missed something. Let's see the rest of it. Safe Haven, from all that I've read until now, is my favourite. :)
