Arg so apparently I don't own Assassin's Heart like I thought I did. Or if I do it's hiding. So off to find another book that I can hopefully finish by Wed.

It was just another run of the mill first in a series paranormal romance. I didn't like the hero that much. It was an entertaining book but I don't feel the urge to go out and get the rest of the series. Probably because I'm not a big fan of amnesia/lost memory plot lines. I may read more then again maybe not.

I liked this book a lot and look forward to reading more of the series. I don't really get why it's been shelved as erotica because it really isn't. There is sex in the book but I've read a lot of erotica and this book was more in line with a modern standard romance. I liked the whole seeker to watcher soul mate set up. I'm a fan of fated mate story lines. I docked it a star because I wish it was longer to give more set up to the worl she was setting up and more character developement.

Neat review, Mary! I've read books that are marked erotica also, and I haven't thought they were. I guess that is b/c everyone defines it differently.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. Not only did I get a little history lesson from it, but I also was able to enjoy the relationship built between whites and coloreds...(as stated in the book)...I really enjoyed the character Casey the most. Said what he thought even if it was going to get him a whippin'. He made me smile often throughout the book. I also enjoyed BB's role. The ending was a surprise to me as I had no clue who the murderer was. Normally I have an idea. This is the best southern book I have read since 'The Help'.

Book: Too Perfect by Julie Ortolon

Review:
In many ways Too Perfect is the story of Cinderella meets Beauty and the Beast meets You’ve Got Mail and it’s a very sweet story. Amy has a heartbreaking back story and I felt like she truly deserved her happily ever after. She’s managed to overcome weight issues, the death of her mother at such a young age and a grandmother who loves her so much that she would sabotage Amy just to keep her close.
But this story was a little too unrealistically unbelievable for me to completely enjoy the story. There is no problem too large that a few pages cannot overcome – no job, no money, no visa, no problem. Amy manages to secure an amazing job for a man who wants his privacy with no background checks or anything. Amy managing to have a relationship and share a bed with a man for two weeks and not once seeing his face… it was a bit too farfetched for me to cope with.
I would have liked a little more explanation in between the end of the novel and the epilogue to show how Amy and Byron dealt with all of the issues that had not been dealt with.
Overall this is a very cute and fun albeit rather unbelievable read where the leads fell in love with the other not based on appearance but because of their minds and hearts.

☺☺ They were both 5 star reads for me. The rest are all on my TBR. If you like that genre then you would more than likely enjoy them!

Review:This was an AWESOME book. I randomly picked this book up while browsing the shelves at the library. I automatically knew that I had to read it when I opened it and saw that it was written in free verse,letters,telegrams,booklets, and forms. The story is told in over 20 different POVs but is not at all hard to follow as I connected with all the characters. Some of the POVs are most interesting as they range from the iceberg,the rats,the promenades,the undertaker and on down the line to the crew and the passengers. It's beautifully written with the author having done a lot of research. One of the most unique things about this book is the afterward/author's note where he explains what is fact and what is fiction and the mistakes he made in getting the facts right (mainly with the characters). There is a Morse Code chart to reference to and the page numbers in which you can go back through the book and find the messages. There's also other miscellaneous info regarding the titanic that includes the types of food,the children, how many married couples,the lost, the cargo etc. The bibliography is great especially if you are extremely interested in the Titanic (like me). Lots of new sources to check out!!! Although it is classified as YA it is one to be enjoyed by those of all ages and I HIGHLY recommend it ☺

Movies often seem to leave out a lot of details and little things that were reasons why I enjoyed the book version.
But I still like watching film adaptations because I feel like I get something a little extra that I wouldn't have gotten if I'd just read the book.
