I'm relatively new to goodreads, and this is the first group I've joined. I used to be a really big reader as a child, but with the advent of tv and video games, many of the books I own remain on my shelves, untouched. I thought 2009 would be as good a time as any to change that, especially since there seem to be an awful lot of good books on those shelves of mine.
I've started off with a very modest goal -- considering that I'm in school full-time and am in the throes of planning my wedding in April, I don't have a lot of free time. I also thought it would be fun to add sort of a theme to the books I've chosen, since I seem to have a lot of books that have inspired media adaptations of themselves in one form or another.
So here's my list, I'll let you guys know how it goes:

So here's my list, I'll let you guys know how it goes:
1.The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
2.The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman - It didn't seem right to read the first book in His Dark Materials and not read the others.
3.The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman - see above.
4.Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson
5.Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this.
