As part of my commitment to literacy and literature, I made a facebook event for anyone who wants to read a classic story, play, or book of poetry before January 1, 2013. Tolkien's work is all considered "classic," of course, and your readings could do double duty.
Here’s how it works: by accepting the invitation, you commit to finishing at least one book before the deadline. I’m keeping a tally of all the titles and books, and in January I'll see what kind of literary contribution that we’ve made to society in four months.
