Dan in AZ | 2960 comments 1. The Strangler, William Landlay. Was the Boston Strangler really the Boston Strangler? Or was he just a wild and crazy kind of guy?

2. Chaos Theory, Gary Krist. Want to disappear and leave your troubles behind? There's someone who can help.

3. Enclave, Ann Aguirre. Post-apocalyptic survivors live underground with some not-so-nice neighbors.

4. Madman on a Drum, David Housewright. Mac helps friend who's daughter is kidnapped.

5. Voodoo River, Robert Crais. Elvis gets hired by a TV star to investigate her birth parents with unusual results.

6. Solo, Jack Higgins. Concert pianist is really an assassin who gets on the bad side of a British special forces guy who takes exception to his daughter being killed.

7. Tombstone Courage, J.A.Jance. Joanna Brady looks into a couple deaths that occurred 50 years apart but - hey, did you ever doubt it? - are connected.

8, Pursuit of Honor, Vince Flynn. Mitch Rapp investigates terrorist bombing in D.C.

9. Injustice for All, J.A.Jance. J.P.Beaumont comes across a murder while vacationing that puts him up against some powerful people. Guess who wins?

10. The Man in the Queue. Scotland Yard cop investigates man killed while waiting in line for a British musical comedy. No doubt he deserved it.

11. Indemnity Only, Sara Paretsky. V.I.Warshawsky looks for coed but finds more than just her. Been saving V.I. so I could see how Paretsky handles the evolution of both the character and the city of Chicago over a 30 year period.

12. Accomplice, Marcus Galloway. Doc Holiday helps a saloon owner when a greedy "entrepeneur" tries to muscle into his business. Takes place in Dallas in late 1800's. Since "faro" plays a large role in the story, I had to look up the game's rules on Wikpedia.

Nothing spectacular, but all of them were pretty entertaining.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments Excellent book count, good they were entertaining!
Are you reading Paretsky in order, Dan? I read Indemnity Only and then skipped up to my next gap with Blood Shot (edited, not Blood Sport), about ten years later.

Dan in AZ | 2960 comments I'm going to read them in order, Ann. I read one a long time ago, but I don't even remember which one. This is one of the series I've kept in my back pocket for a long time. It's interesting to see the difference between reading series as the author writes them - maybe a year between books - and reading an entire series at the rate of a book or two a month.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16982 comments That will be fun Dan! I have done that a few times and loved it. The way the characters progress, the way the author gently (or not so gently) reminds you of past events in other books can be great. enjoy!

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9510 comments You sure packed in a lot of books this month, Dan. You also seem to be mastering the pithy one-line summary!

Dan in AZ | 2960 comments Yeah, I'm just full of pith.
