For every book a reader and for every reader a book: Of course you knew that there are different kinds of books, but did you know there are different kinds of readers? What kind of reader are you? Read this article to find out http://www.theatlanticwire.com/entert...

I am definitely the Sleepy Bedtime Reader. My family actually has a picture of me lying on the couch with a book propped up on my chest, reading glasses on, looking like I'm immersed in a book. If you look closely, though, you'll see that my eyes are shut!

Jenny | 112 comments Fun article... I am both a Cross-Under (I read a lot of children's and YA books...and often enjoy them as much or more than the adult novels I read) and a multitasker...I always have at least 3 or more books going... (one I'm reading to myself, one I'm reading to my kids, one I'm listening to on CD, often one I"m listening to on CD with my kids, and if the one I'm reading to myself is slow, then I usually pick up another one to read to myself, but keep the first one going too).

April | 7 comments Wow, I had no idea I would fit in so many categories, multitasker, cross-under, delayed reader 1, and book lover. I guess I am a reader of many habits.

Ashley | 1 comments This was a fun article. I am definitely a Chronological reader and a Cross-Under reader. I like to explore the children's and YA fiction books, and I tend to be a one book at a time reader. A few times, due to holds being available at the same time, I have had to multitask and read multiple books, or stop reading one book to read a book that was on hold, it was so frustrating.

Stephanie | 40 comments I think the only ones in that list that really fit me are the cross-under and the multi-tasker. I wasn't a cross-under reader until I became a children's librarian and discovered all the wonderful books being published for kids, and I have to read multiple books at once because I just can't wait to finish one before starting another. I've been asked how I can keep plots and characters straight, but I figure it's the same thing as people who watch a bunch of different tv shows and don't get them confused. If the plots and characters and settings are different enough then there's no question of which is which.

Debbie (dashforcover) | 1224 comments I went on to the additional list and finally found one for me. I'm an "It's Complicated" Reader. Because I fit in all of these categories:
- Chronological - I try to finish every book I start and will only put one down with regret. Usually, I try another time to finish it.
- Multi-Tasker - I currently have 6 books in progress, and I try to read some of each every day.
- Audiobook listener - I always have an audiobook going. I listen when I drive, when I do chores, and when I garden or exercise.
- Cross-Under - I love kiddie books. This year I completed reading all the Caldecott winners. I've read two juvenile fiction series. When I was a kid, I finished all the books for kids in our public library by the end of 4th grade. It was a different time then. The librarian would not let me borrow any of the adult books (so glad that's ended now) so I just bought them.
- The All-the-Timer/Compulsive/Voracious/Anything Goes Reader. Read books in all formats. Current titles I'm reading include paperback, hardback, audiobook and e-book. I own Harry Potter series and Hobbit/Lord of the Rings in ... ditto. Plus the movies where available.

But combining them all into one category:
It's Complicated Reader
