Diane U (djuseless) I will actually be picking next month's group read on Friday (9/14) because I will be away on the weekend. I am heading up to Maine for my cousin's baby shower and she has no idea that I am coming!!!

message 5: by Carole (new)

Carole Jarvis Surprises like that are so much fun, Diane! I'm sure your cousin will be thrilled.

I also envy you getting to visit Maine, especially at this time of year. I've always been drawn to the New England area and been blessed by visiting a few times. This Georgia girl would move to New England if my family would only go with me!

message 6: by Diane U (new)

Diane U (djuseless) I live in MA so it is only a 4-1/2 hour drive to my aunt's house in Waterville, ME. I have not seen my cousin in about 6 years. I just hope she doesn't have the baby right then and there! LOL!

Donna (donna_mccoy) | 1 comments I nominate "Home for the Holidays" by Rebecca Kelly.

Diane U (djuseless) The winner of the group read for October is:

#1 - Short-Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer

I'm really excited for this one! I have been wanting to read this for several months but have not gotten around to it! I will also contact Karen so that she can participate in the group discussion with us!

Diane U (djuseless) That's what I've heard!!!

I messaged Karen and I'll keep you informed about her response!

It would be great to have Karen join us. I'm looking forward to this one, too. I've also heard that this book is VERY good!

Diane U (djuseless) Here is Karen's response:

Hi, Diane. I would love to interact with the readers of your group. Just let me know when would be the best time to chime in.

I've reset my setting, I think, so I will receive emails as people begin discussing.

I want people to feel comfortable sharing their opinions, even if there is something they didn't like, so if you want to start the discussion without me and have me join in later that's fine. Or if it would be easier for me to just pop in every now and then with a question or to respond to a comment, I'd be happy to do that as well. Let me know what you prefer.

Looking forward to it!
~Karen
