Dan (dan2345) | 5 comments Hello, I figured I'd finally introduce myself. My name is Dan and that is all I will give you about my identity, because, as I tell people on here, "I am the Bruce Wayne of Goodreads." LOL. Well let's see, I love Horror, mostly vampire stuff but I am trying to expand and read other things. I see right now that you guys are reading Children of the Night which someone on GR (can't remember who) recommended to me as a good vampire read. What else...I love Stephen King. Right now I am reading 'Salem's Lot for the third time. The edition I have next to me as I write this is a special one, with extra material, etc. Oh yeah, I said I love horror, well tomorrow I am going to buy a number of horror books including,Danse Macabre, The Dark Descent, Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural, and Dark Duets from Barnes & Noble. Oh, and I also just ordered Dark Forces: New Stories of Suspense and Supernatural Horror from Amazon.com. I love horror anthologies. I tried reading 999: Twenty-nine Original Tales of Horror and Suspense but lost interest and gave up on it...which I rarely do with a book. What else, my favorite book is Dracula but like I said I'm going to take a little break from the vampire stuff after 'Salem's Lot. The scariest books I have ever read are Pet Sematary and The Exorcist. I am a freelance artist who loves snowboarding and martial arts. I guess that's it about me. If you guys want to know more just ask or contact me. I look forward to being a member of this group.

message 112: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Hi,
I am Vicki. I like to read all sorts of things, but have always loved horror. Like some of you, I started watching scary movies very early (Halloween in 1979). I am new to GoodReads, but I am a teacher and have all summer to read!! I am married with two teenage boys and live in San Diego. I am trying to get my older son to join me to read the July selection. I am looking forward to see how this pacing thing works for me. Thanks for organizing this!

Natasa (natasa79) | 16 comments Hi all,

I saw Kate making a commentat something related to this group and I didn't know what it was, so i realized there is a new group! And wow, what a great idea :) I'm loving it! It will be great to be at the same time at the same part of the book because sometimes I want to comment and discuss at certain points of the book but usually everyone's at different parts (either already read it, or just beginning it or whatever).

Thanks for having me, I hope I'll be doing some read with you :)

Great to see more people come. I love this little group. Have only been part of this one for a few months. I think only since April or something close to that.

message 124: by Kaisersoze (new)

Kaisersoze I probably should have posted here before I waded into The Troop thread, sorry. Hi all, Kaiser here. I've been around for a bit on Goodreads now and contribute reviews to Nikki from HA's blog, Horror After Dark. Hoping to one day publish some of my own writings - if life ever settles down enough that I have the time and energy (he said, using the most cliched excuse ever!)

Sean Mintiens (smintiens) Hello all! I'm Sean. I'm a huge horror fanatic and currently in pre-production for my first indie horror film. I'm also a huge lovecraft fan, it's almost an obsession. Thank you Andy for the invite to this group, I love the idea of paced reading and look forward to doing some reads with some new faces and some old ones here. =)

Kirstin | 50 comments Hey everyone! I'm Kirstin. I definitely see a lot of familiar faces here. :) I'm looking forward to the group and buddy reads. The challenges look fun as well.

I'll read almost anything, but that ever elusive scare from a book is what keeps horror at the top of my list.

Robert Krone | 157 comments Welcome to the group. I like how it's done, as I usually don't read very fast. I haven't been active, even in voting lately since I haven't been in a reading mood lately, but hopefully I'll get back into it this year.

message 142: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 600 comments What I love about this group is that it's one book--25% each week. In other groups (when I get behind with NG and reviews), I'll start the book only to find that almost everyone has finished, or is finishing it already. Sadly, that leads often to some spoiler-ish comments, unintentionally left.

Here, everyone is allowed to discuss up to a certain point only, so if you haven't gotten there yet, you know that you risk the spoilers.
