Hi! After reading the first twoo books i found myself wondering about this: Are each book Diferent stories but they have something to do with each other, like some link between them?

Well thats good to know. I can see how Gathering Blue and The Messenger are connected, but not The Giver so much. I assume that Jonas is the boy that is over the town in The Messenger but I am not sure.

each of the 4 books is set in the same world, although years apart. The second and third books (Gathering Blue, Messenger) are more companion pieces than sequels to "The Giver". They are certainly different stories, not continuations. There are some connections, and not always obvious ones. I'm currently reading the newest "Son" which I view as the direct sequel to "The Giver" and it looks like it is tying up loose ends and bringing the stories together.

In the second book (Gathering Blue) it is kind-a hard to see the connection, but in the third book (Messenger) the whole three books come together to form one big story.

I found it very entertaining~^^
