Is there a way to get author genre?

I'm trying to find a way to get the genre associated with an author. So, given the author "Stephen King," is there a method that would return xml containing the genres "Mystery & Thrillers, Horror, Literature & Fiction"?

I've tried all of the author-associated methods and none of them seem to return xml with genre information. Any help would be greatly appreciated
