Nabokov left an "Easter Egg" for re-readers. Did you find it?

J. Here's a different question.
Was the child lost in stillbirth fathered by Dick Schiller, or Clare Quilty ? Can't recall if that was settled in the text...
(and, stillbirth = easter egg ... ? Enter the Literary Shorthand Police, shambolic terms dept...)

Mickey There were two years in between her leaving Quilty and her meeting her husband, so I think it's safe to assume the father is not Quilty.

The originator of this thread deleted most of her posts, including the first, which explained the use of the term "Easter egg". I think this was it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_e...

J. An odd, if not nabokovian usage, that easter-egg thing.
And hmm, those russian eggs-within-eggs....
Thanks. J.

Cateline I've read Lolita several times, and it wasn't till I'd read through the first time, and went back and reread the intro that dawn broke and I understood how much VN had actually given away there.
I loved it! :)
